Photos of Apple’s iPhone 8’s front side leak

“Apple is reportedly manufacturing the 2017 iPhones as we speak, including the iPhone 7s, iPhone 7s Plus, and iPhone 8, which must mean we should see more real-life photos leak ahead of the expected mid-September launch,” Chris Smith reports for BGR.

“Over the weekend we saw pictures of the iPhone 7s Plus that seem to confirm a major new feature, and now we have a new iPhone 8 leak that confirms Apple’s design once and for all,” Smith reports. “First posted on Weibo, these images show the entire screen assembly of the iPhone 8. This is not a render, but a real-life picture of a component that someone actually made.”

“The images indicate that the iPhone 8 has an edge-to-edge design, with minimal bezels except for the top where there’s a pretty noticeable ‘notch’ that incorporates all the front-facing cameras, sensors, and speaker,” Smith reports. “There’s no home button, just as expected.”

MacDailyNews Take: As we wrote back in June, “All it takes is one leak out of Apple’s iPhone supply chain. It’s tough to achieve a perfect record with so many people involved in the process. We bet Apple can’t wait until the only eyes seeing future iPhone models during assembly are robotic.”

  1. I don’t see the point of these “secret” photo reveals, it does nothing for me. Doesn’t make me giddy or excited. It just looks like an iPhone to me. iPhones are more about what they DO and not so much anymore as to how they LOOK. Much ado about visually nothing.

    1. These things surely excite some people. I see guys gushing and swooning on Youtube as though the iPhone is some love of their lives. I find such displays of affection for a smartphone rather disgusting but I guess that’s how some people are. It’s going to be announced within a couple of months, so what’s the big deal about waiting until it gets an official announcement. I sure wish Apple could fire every person who gives out advance information about their products. Some people are so off-base, anyway.

I’m sure it will be a nice smartphone like nearly every iPhone was, but these people are just being ridiculous. “Oooh, I can’t wait until that baby is mine.” Jeez. I guess speculation is done with all flagship smartphones so it’s probably not that unusual. I can only hope when this special iPhone is available that people will be buying them by the truckloads and not be concerned about the slightly higher cost.

      1. I have always enjoyed the enthusiasm and anticipation of Apple fans over new product announcements. It is a testament to Apple that people actually like and desire their products.

I will admit that I tend to find gushing love over a new iPhone a bit strange and childish. But that is a long way short of “rather disgusting.” I think that you just need to chill out a bit and reconsider your inclination to severe judgments.
