Today Logitech announced the Logitech Slim Combo, a protective cover and detachable keyboard for Apple’s new, 10.5-inch or 12.9-inch iPad Pro. The Logitech Slim Combo is a versatile case and keyboard, designed so you can experience the full potential of your iPad Pro.

The Slim Combo for iPad Pro provides versatility through its four use modes — typing, viewing, FaceTime and reading. You can comfortably shoot off an email using the full-size keyboard, pop off the detachable keyboard to sketch out an idea with Apple Pencil, or just sit back and watch a show or get lost in an e-book without distractions. And if a call comes in, simply switch Slim Combo into portrait mode for a hands-free FaceTime experience that captures less background and more of what matters.
The detachable keyboard connects to your iPad Pro through its Smart Connector and gets all of its power directly from the iPad Pro – there’s no need for charging cables, batteries or pairing. Well I wasn’t impressed with the last standard iPad refresh iteration but I am with this pro one, especially with iOS 11 onboard. Will be getting one very soon.
I still have an iPad v2. I got it when Steve was still with us. But I did order the iPadPro 10.5 yesterday 🙂
Now I have to dress it up with the pencil and a keyboard. Waffling back and forth between Logitech or Apple Smart Keyboard. The only thing I don’t like about the Apple Smart Keyboard is that it does not seem to have space for storing the pencil. That seems small but a big deal for someone like me who’s loses and misplace pens VERY easily.
Would rather have a backlit keyboard ala Logitech rather than Apple’s non-backlit version.

Sorry Logitech, but even the latest and greatest iPads do not have the screen real estate nor the horsepower of a workstation. Not even close.

Pretending an ultralight portable tablet can replace a workstation is laughable. I am sick of reading from the industry wonks that everything needs to be thinner lighter and more portable. That is not what I want, and I am not alone.

Ordered my 10.5″, will not be getting a keyboard.
