MacDailyNews Take: It’s snappy!

  1. Anyone else have trouble with the Combo Updater? Several people in my office got stuck at the rebooting stage. Machines just hung with the spinning wheel… We were able to reboot, but distressing.

    1. The tech press is rushing out story after story telling everyone to update their OSes this week. I pause and actually read what is included in an update. Unfortunately it seems Apple is playing down to the level of other less capable software companies in the quality and details. Apple now just tacks on the bottom of every release the generic disclaimer that there are some bug fixes and security updates. But they seldom fix the bugs I report. Worse yet, look how many major planned updates crash on Apple’s supposed non-fragmented hardware resulting in a rush x.x.1 update days later.

I do think this lack of quality lately—-fashion over substance—- is a reflection of the poor leadership.

Investors can brag all they want about Apple making them rich. I want them to make superior Macs again.

  2. Does this mean that all the bugs are out of 10.12.x? Hell no and Apple knows it because I’ve reported some of them! But 10.12.5 does squash the more major problems. I just hope there’s a 10.12.6 beta, as WE NEED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!
