Apple today released updates across their iWork suite for both macOS and iOS.
Apple’s updates include new iPad keyboard improvements for Numbers on iOS.
Release notes for Pages and Keynote on macOS and iOS and Numbers on macOS all state the same brief description:
This update contains stability and performance improvements.
The updates are available via Software Update.
Stability improvements…. like how the old version would occasionally and for no reason not be able to open a previously saved Pages document from a few days earlier.
(Ultimately recovered by Apple through tech support.)
Apple seems to have listened to the many people who complained about the last update that obscured the number keypad. You can now toggle between numeric and alpha keypads from the sheet you’re working on.
Keep it going Apple. I want this suite to be the best that can be. The more I can avoid MS Crap, the better!
Wake me up when Pages gets back all the functionality it lost after Pages 9.
Page orientation by section and numbered paragraph headings in particular.
No kidding!!!
That and two page views and linked text boxes.
Agreed. With every update to Pages 6 I’ve submitted feedback asking for the two up page view from Pages ‘O9. I’ve never gotten a response. Frustrating. How hard could it be to add a deleted feature that every other word processing app has?
Still, cannot turn off page hyphenation in Pages for iOS version. Unuseable in iOS unless you like this- at the end of each line.
Like the changes to Numbers! Makes formatting easier!
iOS pro tablets have a ‘pencil’.
Pages should allow you to work and edit pages documents with the pencil – just like you would do with a physical document.
When it can do that, I will probably invest.
