iPhone 8 buzz already hurting sales of iPhone knockoff peddlers like Samsung

“A report from TrendForce published on Tuesday says that buzz around the iPhone 8 is already negatively affecting pre-orders for Samsung’s new Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+,” Todd Haselton reports for CNBC. “‘Samsung has also released its flagship device for the year Galaxy S8 this second quarter,’ TrendForce said. ‘However, the high-end model is expected to make limited sales contribution because the buzz surrounding the next-generation iPhone devices is dampening demand for products from non-Apple vendors.'”

Haselton reports, “TrendForce said it expects Samsung to post flat growth as a result.”

“‘The market demand going into the second quarter is expected to remain relatively weak as consumers are holding off their purchases in anticipation of the 10th anniversary iPhone devices that will arrive in the third quarter,'” TrendForce said,” Haselton reports.

    1. It certainly affected my upgrade to an iPhone 7.
Rather than wait for the iPhone 8, I’ve just upgraded to the iPhone 7 Plus.

Of course, I waited until the iPhone 3GS came out, before getting an iPhone at all.

I like my 256GB iPod that I can make calls, get email, get directions read news papers from.

      🙃

  1. IPhone 8 and Samsung 8. Anyone make the connection that has been going on for almost two decades?

Hint: Apple AQUA and Microsoft AERO. Guilt or more accurate confusion by association.

Obvious the competition is copying Apple’s lead and purposely naming products to confuse the naive consumer for a long time.

The more important point is after 10 years of the revolutionary iPhone should it be named eight? WTF?!?!?

Hell no! This is nuts and so easy to fix.

Follow what car manufacturers do: Jeep Renegade 2017. Sport, Limited or Trailhawk that constructive parallels SE, iPhone and Plus.

How the hell do you put out an EIGHT model iPhone in 10 years — ridiculous!

This new sane, common sense and more accurate naming convention will hopefully send the competition into a copycat tailspin … 😆
