“Back in December, we saw an Apple patent-filing over a new Apple Pencil model — one that may or may not be compatible with iPhones,” PhoneArena reports. “The implication being that at least the big iPhone Plus models could get their own stylus.”
“Now, a new patent shows us that Apple is also thinking about ways to easily store and transport the Pencil with your iPad, and it loosely touches upon the whole iPhone compatibility thing again,” PhoneArena reports. “Yes, it’s an awesome tool, but you need to think about carrying it around, take care not to forget it, and figure out where to keep it. Thankfully, future iPad Pro smart covers may have some sort of loop or another kind of holder or compartment…”

MacDailyNews Take: A holder for Apple Pencil seems like enough of an obvious idea that it should have been included in Apple’s iPad Pro cases upon launch of the Pencil. We’ll see how Apple plans to make Pencil useful for iPhone Plus, if they do it.
At the very least, the Pencil should have been designed with magnets to let it stick to the iPad edge, or a non-round shape to keep it from rolling off any surface (or both).
A pencil is really worth existing only if iPad gets as good as a Wacom tablet for professionals.

Depends on your needs
That was a fair comparison and informative. A couple of things that were brushed aside is that the Wacom is more expensive, a lot. It’s more inline with a MacBook Pro in price. The other is that the Wacom is not as portable. A lot heavier and half the battery life. It is not a mobile device: there is no cell connection. That is something that has always annoyed me when comparing iPads to Win tablets (especially Surface). If you’re out of a wifi zone you’re screwed. Yes I know it’s a pricey option for an iPad, however in this case it’s still less than the Wacom. For doing things outside of an office, as in the outside in nature, the iPad really shines. As for doing high professional work, especially collaborative the Wacom is much better. Again I do think this was a very fair comparison.
