“Wall Street is giving President Trump’s first speech to Congress a standing ovation,” Matt Egan reports for CNN. “The Dow soared 300 points and zoomed beyond the 21,000 level for the first time ever on Wednesday. The milestone comes barely a month after the Dow hit 20,000 for the first time.”
“Trump’s primetime address to Congress received high marks from viewers, and has clearly left Wall Street in good spirits, too,” Egan reports. “Nicholas Colas, chief market strategist at brokerage firm ConvergEx [said], ‘It was a solid speech from the perspective of putting Trump on a truly presidential footing.’ For instance, Trump asked members of Congress to ‘join me in dreaming big, and bold and daring things for our country.'”
“All told, the Dow has now skyrocketed 2,700 points since Trump’s victory in November,” Egan reports. “If the Dow closes above 21,000 on Wednesday, it would be just 24 trading days since the 20,000 milestone.”

Ah yes…that plan. The same plan that cemented the US’s political and industrial worldwide dominance for half a century. The same plan that kept Europe in thrall to American industrial might that arose from the Lend Lease program which the U.K. only finally settled in 2006 having had to pay back double the original loans while recovering from total economic destruction. The same plan that saddled Europe with even more debts when the US withdrew its manpower but not it’s equipment and infrastructure – which still had to be paid for. The same plan that was conditional on the free – as in ‘one way’, exchange of advanced technology IP and unconditional support of American foreign policy.

Ironic that Trump proposes extreme cuts in State Department funding that would not allow such programs in future in places like Iraq similarly destroyed by devastating conflict.

Donald Trump delivered the most finely crafted speech of his political life Tuesday night in what will go down as one of the best speeches delivered to a joint session of Congress in the past two decades.
He hit stirring emotional high notes. And he laid out his vision for his presidency.
Mr. Trump stole the issue of affordable health care from Democrats. He unabashedly owned the fight against illegal immigration.
“Obamacare is collapsing — and we must act decisively to protect all Americans,” he said. “Action is not a choice — it is a necessity.”
In other words, Democrats led by President Obama swindled poor Americans into this disastrous program with their usual host of lies and false promises and now these good people are stranded. But Mr. Trump and Republicans are not going to leave these innocent Americans to dig themselves out of the mess Democrats put them in.
“So I am calling on all Democrats and Republicans in the Congress to work with us to save Americans from this imploding Obamacare disaster.”
When the camera panned to House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi — who, inexplicably, is still the Democratic leader in the House — she looked like she had been sucking on the bitterest of lemons.

He waited two beats. “And maybe even three times if we had people who had the ability to … negotiate.”
The camera panned to Sen. Elizabeth Warren, who was exchanging perplexed glances with an equally befuddled senator. They didn’t get the line. Apparently, Ms. Warren never achieved her merit badge for reading smoke signals.
In the end, Donald Trump so dominated the entire night that Democrats were left nothing but sullen protests.
In a shocking development, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg did not doze off during the hour long address. At least not on national television. She did not show up.
There were so many protests on the Democratic side of the aisle, it was hard to keep track. Even the Democrats seemed confused about what they were protesting.
Rep. Joseph Crowley, New York Democrat, wore a giant pin protesting, well, not sure exactly what. It simply featured a large question mark.
In all honesty, that pin could be the party’s entire platform in the next election.

Amazing the effect on the stock market and the morale of a country that can be seen if the leader actually speaks positively about private sector jobs, cutting government, enforcing laws and says nothing about people who are confused about what rest room to use. Very refreshing. And to clear one thing up, Apple’s entire rise today was obviously from the speech since Apple did nothing of note. Today was a free market bounce. And this is from a person who did not even vote for Trump. Of course I didn’t vote for Bill Clinton’s lover either.
I think you guys are giving Trump too much credit, because his track record is not that good about paying it back.
