Steve Jobs was born on February 24, 1955. February 24, 2016 would have been his 62nd birthday, had the co-founder of Apple Inc. had not succumbed to complications from pancreatic cancer on October 5, 2011.
That day, the world lost a visionary genius and a charismatic revolutionary.

Apple today is a shell of what Jobs built. There has been no real innovation at Apple since Jobs passed.
Cook and company have been riding his coattails. A monkey could have taken the keys to the empore Jobs spent his whole life building and ridden the momentum.
Thank you, Steve, for bringing so much joy, and so many memories, to my life, both through things you did and said, and for things I experienced in my own life through the use of the products you envisioned.
Lets not forget Jobs is part Syrian. Jobs father was an immigrant from Syria and is a non practicing Muslim. His mother was white.
His biological father had nothing to do with his upbringing. He was raised by his adoptive parents who were Christian in San Francisco.
That was a choice of Jobs “christian” mother who chose to exclude the father. “Christianity had no influence on Jobs, thank God. It is the “christians” of today who support the US “christian” president in banding people form such countries. Thank God our nation of laws stopped that madness.
So what was your point in bringing up his father?
The point he was making is that if not for a Syrian immigrant to America there would have been no Steven Paul Jobs. Woz is also the son of an immigrant. Bloomberg showed how many American companies were founded by immigrants or their first generation offspring- it is quite a list.
Immigrants give far more to America than they take and we are all- including the First Peoples – the descendants of migrants from other shores.
When Europeans invaded the New World to settle, the Native Tribes did not ask for visas, green cards or lock them up in a jail awaiting deportation. Is it not funny that birds and fish are free to migrate but people are bound by artificial boundaries drawn long ago by people long dead. Kind of like being a less restricted serf.

I suppose it was too much to ask for you to be more sensible regarding your own health so you might still be with us Steve. Even 62 is comparatively young these days and we should’ve had you another 25-30 years. We can only ponder how different things would be if you were still here. I guess we just have to be glad you were with us at all to start the revolution that has mostly benefited so many.
He wasted 6 months praying (like that is going to fix anything), fasting and crazy diets before following the advice of Doctors. You cannot get that time spent dawdling. Word to the wise: prayer, chanting, fasting, etc does not cure Cancer.
Steve Jobs is an unfortunate object lesson in how otherwise highly intelligent people can succumb to the bullshit of Religion. If the con men and con women who claim to be faith healers can do as they say, I invite them to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis- a couple of miles from where I am sitting. Come empty the patient rolls of kids who did nothing behaviorally to cause the cancer ravaging their bodies and lives.
Scientific research at St Jude has changed the outcomes of numerous Cancers and been shared with hospitals and Doctors worldwide. No patient has ever paid for treatment and everyone is welcome regardless of whatever. In Memphis- a city full of Churches, Mosques, Temples and Synagogues- There has never been a report of any patient being cured of cancer by any faith healer or prayer. It is science- evidence based science.
Had Steve Jobs followed the advice of the Doctors at Stanford he could well have been alive today and enjoying life. That may be a hard thing to say, but it is the truth. Cancer is a thief and it works 24/7/365. It is not a respecter of persons and fears no sky god.
Prayer may not have healed his cancer (hard to prove), but it might have led him to quickly realize he needed to get his God-given body to competent medical resources for help. I, for one, wish he had.

30 years in medicine has taught me to hate Cancer and what it does. Last December it took my Mom, which just adds to the list.
