“Apple’s rumored iPhone with an edge-to-edge OLED display will have longer battery life, which will drive customers with older iPhone models to upgrade at an accelerated rate, according to Morgan Stanley analyst Katy Hubert,” Joe Rossignol reports for MacRumors.
“Huberty also expects the high-end iPhone to have a significant form factor change with wireless charging, 3D sensors, and more advanced AI software capabilities, which are all features that have been previously rumored,” Rossignol reports.
“Her research note said a larger base of customers that own at least a two year old iPhone, particularly in China, has resulted in ‘pent-up demand’ for the significantly redesigned ‘iPhone 8,'” Rossignol reports, “and this ‘supercycle’ will help drive sales growth alongside modestly updated 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch models.”

I’m having a ‘cheap sim only’ year with my iPhone 6 waiting for this projected awesome upgrade. Apple should call it the SJPhone.
It seems that everyone is talking about iPhone 8, and nobody is talking about 7S, which should be the next iPhone.
I know MDN has always been the first to harp over the ‘S’ names, but there is no indication that, after six years and three iterations so far, Apple intends to drop the naming system.
I am definitely not waiting for 8; I’ll be getting 7s as soon as it is launched.
And further to your point about MDN not liking the “s”, or numbers for that matter… Apple can’t skip the “8”. 8 is considered the luckiest number in Chinese culture, and they’ll buy the iPhone 8 in extra-large droves (instead of merely large droves)

Yes, more battery life. What an innovative thought… that we’ve been ranting and raving for over these many years. (o_O)
Yes it’s not innovating. This does not mean that it should be not thought of. The iPhone is a pocket computer, and Apple does a great job in promoting it like this. So I want a battery life that matches the one of a portable computer.
