“Adobe this week released Flash Player version 24.0.0.221 to ‘address critical vulnerabilities that could potentially allow an attacker to take control of the affected system,’ including Mac, Windows, Linux, and Chrome OS,” Joe Rossignol reports for MacRumors.
“Mac users with Flash Player version 24.0.0.194 or earlier installed should immediately update to the latest version using the built-in update mechanism,” Rossignol reports. “The update is also available from the Adobe Flash Player Download Center.”
Rossignol reports, “Adobe said the critical security update resolves integer overflow, memory corruption, type confusion, heap buffer overflow, and use-after-free vulnerabilities that could lead to code execution.”

I do my best to avoid sites that still that mess, flash. No, I don’t do my best – I DO avoid them.
There should be a prison for incompetence and lack of vision.

I have Flash on one of my Macs on Chromium- the less Googlefied version of Chrome. Installed the sandboxes version of Flash and it can be disabled by the user.
Unfortunately I have a mandatory online College Certificate Set of courses I am completing for work and it requires Flash. Using Chromium with sandboxed Flash is as good as I can do until the coursework is finished.

Hey anyone remember how sure the world was that no Flash on the iPad was the end of the world? Good times.
I won’t install any Adobe products on my Mac. Pixelmator works more than well enough for me. Preview supports PDFs. I use Safari as my main browser. If I encounter a site the requires Flash that is worth viewing, I drag the URL onto the Google Chomre icon.
Hopefully by the time Google Chrome stops supporting Flash playback, Flash will be dead.
If you dislike Adobe due to the need for security updates, how is it possible you would voluntarily install Google spyware on your Mac?

Second-Tuesday-Of-The-Month is ALWAYS Adobe Flash Update Day. I can’t think of any month Adobe hasn’t had to provide a Flash security update. Meanwhile, I can think of several months Adobe has had to provide ‘out of band’ Flash updates as well thanks to Zero-Day exploits in-the-wild.
Thankfully, this month, the usual Flash patch isn’t for a Zer0-Day. But no doubt there will be exploits coming for the security flaws patched. So PATCH FLASH NOW!
Or simply UNinstall Flash and never bother with the shyte again. Wouldn’t that be nice?
