  1. “Some 3,800 executives, analysts, directors, and experts…”

What did Fortune say these salesmen, bookies, and sycophants say I should admire about these companies?

“The criteria used are innovation, people management, use of corporate assets, social responsibility, quality of management, financial soundness, long-term investment value, quality of products and global competitiveness.”

All concrete well defined points to be certain, especially innovation, people management, and social responsibility. I’m sure some idiot MBA type has a metric on % fewer suicides.

    Place your bets folks!

  2. Number One here but not number one in execution of everything in its product line. I would think a company as prideful as Apple would think of everything they make as their number one concern. The state of Apple TV, desktop Macs, etc. would seem to indicate this is more a company of priorities based on profit potential more than perceptually and practically moving the bar further on everything they make. Delighting the inhabitants of Appletown on a regular and dependable basis. Making users constantly gasp for regular upgrade air and wrongly designing products that reflect their intended markets is not conducive to sustained loyalty or long term brand happiness.
