“Apple has announced that it will soon let developers reply to reviews on the iPhone, iPad and Mac App Stores,” Benjamin Mayo reports for 9to5Mac. “As part of the iOS 10.3 release notes, the company says that by the time iOS 10.3 is available to customers, developers will be able to respond to customer reviews on the App Store.”
“This is a major breakthrough enhancement as developers have been asking Apple for better ways to interact with customers for a long time,” Mayo reports. “Developer feedback will be displayed publicly on the App Store reviews page for all customers to see.”
May reports, “This means an unfair review can now be countered by an official explanation from the makers of the applications.”

Heck it took almost 10 bloody years but I will definitely take this. A way to directly address concerns and complaints without having to switch over to safari? Heck yea!
About freaking time. Now I can directly answer any negative reviews….
Finally. Does this mean that Apple is finally approaching the abilities of MacUpdate?
How about the dozen other fundamental flaws with the Mac App store? Search, filtering, payment methods, profit sharing, bundle promotions, free trial periods, ability to offer basic & deluxe versions of the same package, updating linking to developer websites, download cache management, ease of updating apps purchased outside the app store, optional view to show entire package before download, family account linking, merging, and management, ability to revert to prior software versions ….
It does make one wonder if Apple programmers and leaders actually use the products they think are good enough these days.
I want to give reviews but the process is so convoluted in the app. You should be able to agree to a review and throw in a star rating without even leaving the app.
Everything is convoluted in the latest Apple apps. Where have all Apple’s Mac programmers gone?
People who demanded intuitive interface, first time quality, and user focus like Forstall were ushered to the door by Cook himself. Ive’s team is in no small part made up by artists who have no idea what it is like to look at skinny low contrast fonts through bifocal lenses.
I don’t blame the worker bees, but it is seriously disappointing that Apple and MDN don’t even recognize the simple things that attract rational people to Android and Windows — user customization of colors and fonts is huge.
Other than that though, i got nothing. I think the dumbing down of the Mac must be directly related to Cook’s head being stuck in the iCloud.
I hope the reviews and replies are just once, one time, no back and forth. I’d HATE for the App Store reviews to become a forum…
I think the developers should try to “stay classy” in their responses. There is no need to let some troll ruin your rep.
