Apple finance manager ‘stabbed to death by husband on Christmas Eve’

“An Apple finance manager was fatally stabbed by her husband on Christmas Eve at their San Jose home, authorities have said,” Clemence Michallon reports for The Daily Mail. “Marco Lobato Arrais, 38, is accused of stabbing and killing 35-year-old Juliana Sewruk Trizi Arrais Saturday night. Marco called 911 in a panic to report the stabbing himself, officials said.”

“Her husband was arrested at the scene and is now being held without bail at the Santa Clara County Main Jail, the Mercury News reported,” Michallon reports. “Authorities haven’t announced a motive but are treating the case as domestic violence. ”

“Marco was arrested earlier this year and accused of forcing his wife to have sex, the Mercury News reported citing a police report,” Michallon reports. “Juliana, according to her Facebook and LinkedIn profiles, had earned an MBA at the Kellogg School Of Management at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. She had previously worked as an investment banker and had joined Apple in 2012. The 35-year-old interned at the tech firm in 2011, then was hired as a senior financial analyst for retail real estate. Juliana had previously earned a business degree at the University Of San Paolo in her native Brazil. She spoke English, Spanish and Portuguese.”

MacDailyNews Take: A tragedy.

      1. It’s clearly Apple news in the sense that if anything newsworthy happens to an Apple manager, then it’s also Apple related news.

It’s terrible news when somebody is killed in what appears to be a case of extreme domestic violence, but this particular case is also very sad Apple news.

        1. … “Mac News”? Not-so-much.
But … I’m with “mxnt41”, that’s hardly a reason for such crude language. It was 10 AM when you posted this … not awake yet? Not SOBER yet? Hadn’t gotten to BED yet? Or, maybe, just hanging around to see how far down the hill MDN has slid since early November?

    1. No, you fuck off. This a tragedy and important to all of us. If it was domestic violence it needs to be highlighted and faced head on. What a horrible event, so sorry for her family and loved ones who are in pain right now. And the apple community who have lost one of our own.

        1. Voice of reason, you ain’t. So why don’t you get your head out of your ass and get off your high horse, lil’ prick. Pick a name that matches your actions and thoughts, like you know MOFO. Now that name really does suit you.

    1. It generally is not as simple as “divorce”. The problem often lingers long after and then with the next spouse(s).

This is an anger management situation that has deeper personality roots that should have been addressed along with the anger management – probably on both sides.

  1. So, we have gone from “Fake News” to “Loose News” or “Is it News” and “No News”!

I wonder if Apple considers this “news” worth highlighting on their website homepage or a Press Release ‘In Memory of…’?

    Excuse me for a second… I’m back.

I quickly checked Apple.com and unlike what they had done in the past, for say George Harrison, there was no In Memory of… splash page that was up for a few days straight for this Apple Finance Manager. Okay, not a worldly popular celebrity, I get that. But at least a brief PR statement of sadness of Apple family and condolences to the victim’s family.

I checked the ‘press info’ link on Apple website and NOPE. There was no condolences released there. Last entry was for 11/30/16 titled “Apple Turns (RED) with More Ways than Ever to Join the Fight Against AIDS”.

So, begs to question, if Apple doesn’t consider this Apple news worthy of mentioning, then why should MDN. On second thought, kudos to MDN, for bringing this to some people’s attention in the Apple Community, otherwise how would we have known that this person even existed and how dreadful it was of somebody to end her existence and even worse, how, if not for MDN, none of us would be the wiser!

Rest in Peace Juliana Sewruk Trizi Arrais, Apple Finance Manager.

  2. I’m very certain that with any of YOUR employers (and mine), if you had lost somebody in your work community it would have been noted. Perhaps what we are debating here is whether that should be a public notation, or a memo across the company internet. My guess is most of our employers would respectfully note the passing internally.
