Samsung launches Jet Black iPhone 7 knockoff with glossy ‘Black Pearl’ Galaxy S7 Edge

“Samsung as rumored last month has announced the Galaxy S7 edge will be available in a new ‘Black Pearl’ color in select markets starting tomorrow,” Joe Rossignol reports for MacRumors.

“The glossy finish, exclusive to 128GB versions of the smartphone, will inevitably draw comparisons to the Jet Black iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus,” Rossignol reports. “Samsung said the all-black finish ‘radiates quality and luxury.'”

Black Pearl was designed to be modern and striking. The sleek black finish blankets the entire device – edges and all – and adds depth to its glass design. The result is a stylish all-black aesthetic that captures the essence of the color in its purest form. — Samsung

    1. Funny how you twist things (see peterblood71 comment). The iPhone is BY FAR (yes, BY FAR, real, real far) the best selling device in the medium and high end mobile market. Why should Apple be coping things from devices which sells way way less?

    2. Dual lensed cameras have been around almost since the invention of the camera. What makes Apple’s camera different, is that the dual lens are at different focal lengths. How long do you think it’ll take them to rip off that idea?

Waterproofing a camera is not something the competition invented. It’s been around for decades. There’s nothing unique about it. Do you even know what an original idea is?

People are laughing that as soon as Apple chooses a color, Samsung follows with the exact same color. That’s laughable.

  1. This story makes me feel a lot better with the decision I made yesterday. I almost bought a Samsung tv. It was cheaper than lg or Sony. But I resisted. Know I feel so much better. Scumbags.

I think lg might turn out to be a future Samdung. We’ll see how it goes.

    1. I bought a Samsung TV.
It lasted 1 year and 37 days before all these lines started appearing in the screen.

The replacement lasted 7 weeks before it developed the same problem.

It was at this magical moment in time where I discovered, “I don’t actually watch TV. I turn the thing on for the noise.”

      So I cut the cord.

Consequently I am indebted to Samsung. After returning the TV for a full refund, they saved me the cost of the TV as well as the monthly cost of cable over the last 3 years.
