Foxconn manager indicted for stealing 5,700 iPhones, worth $1.56 million

“A former senior manager at Taiwan’s technology giant Foxconn has been indicted for stealing and selling 5,700 iPhones in China to pocket around US$1.56 million, Taiwanese prosecutors said Friday,” Asia One reports.

“The Taiwanese manager, identified by his family name Tsai, worked in the testing department and instructed eight employees at Foxconn’s factory in the southern mainland Chinese city of Shenzhen to smuggle out about thousands of iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s [units], prosecutors said,” Asia One reports. “Tsai and his accomplices sold the testing phones, which were supposed to be scrapped, to stores in Shenzhen and made nearly Tw$50 million (US$1.56 million) from 2013 to 2014, said the New Taipei district prosecutor’s office.”

Asia One reports, “Tsai was charged with breach of trust and faces a maximum 10-year jail term according to prosecutors.”

    1. trondude, your description of the corrupt manager as a “typical Chinese scumbag” is highly disturbing. I expected better of you. Actually, I expect better of everyone, but have become accustomed to being disappointed on a frequent basis.

There are, unfortunately, tons of scumbags in this world. They span all nationalities and ethnicities, as well as both genders. To describe one group as “typical” is ridiculous, and I strongly encourage you to reconsider your viewpoint on life and humanity.

To the scumbag who stole an iPhone out of the T-Mobile box during transit, then taped it up so that it arrived at our doorstep containing only the earbuds and cable – you suck, whatever your nationality or ethnicity. You will likely be caught soon. To the idiot who buys a suspiciously cheap new iPhone without box, earbuds, or cable and then tries to activate it – karma is likely to strike you for your ignorance and greed. The iPhone serial number is on the freaking box and both T-Mobile and Apple can identify the stolen iPhone. Good luck with that. The thief needs people like you in order to make money off of his crime. Thanks for promoting criminal activity, you scumbag.

      1. Whatever dude. Time and Time again, the Chinese people have proven themselves major hypocrites, communists, stealing intellectual property, etc. The list goes on and on. They call Kim from NK fatty, fatty, fatty, while many of them are fat. In this country, they don’t know about fairness, they cut in line, they steal, they cheat, they are really just the scum of the earth and that has been proven many times over and over. Deal with it.

        1. I don’t see what so disturbing about it. Now I can’t say which country trondude is from but odds are he’s from that putrid stinky one that uses the “aim for Bin hit Saddam” guidance system.

Case in point he’s going on about the typical Chinese scumbag asshole when it clearly states in the article that the manager is from Taiwan. Not that it matters, he’s happy cause now he has someone new to hate today, and that’s what keeps the united, hate and fear.

        2. @trondude: Although the Bigot in Chief (Elect) may have emboldened you, all races have people who fall short of our higher ideals. You are presently falling short of the ideals for the human race by your bigoted posts about an entire population based only on the behaviour of a few people.

    1. You’ve done your patriotic duty. Just remember one day your country is going to be really pissed off and I’m not talking about losing just a couple of buildings. What goes around comes around.
