Tim Cook: Apple will begin to ship AirPods over the next few weeks

“Many customers are anxiously anticipating the release of Apple’s wireless AirPods, originally slated to launch in October but later delayed,” Joe Rossignol reports for MacRumors. “Fortunately, the wait may soon be over.”

Rossignol reports, “MacRumors has been forwarded an email…”

Customer’s comment: Give us a release date. I really bought in to the wireless vision you painted. Now I’m stuck waiting with my EarPods but can’t charge my 7 at the same time which I need to do at work. Let us know if it’s a month or 6 months, because then I’ll just buy some other wireless headphones.

Tim Cook’s response: Thanks for your note. Sorry for the delay—we are finalizing them and I anticipate we will begin to ship over the next few weeks.

  1. Man releasing a desired product anytime before Christmas needs to be at least a month or two before. Days before is crazy. The only thing for sure is there’s going to be lots of disappointed people not receiving these before Christmas.

    1. Notice how all these aliases have 5-stars and everyone is boosted 80 to 100 plus votes, with less than 2-stars.

One desperate Tim Cook fanboy is controlling MDN’s rating system at will.

  2. Unfortunately, I think the stock is going to have to go a lot lower before they fire this guy.

Apple tried to jump the shark, but couldn’t even manage that. The shark ate them.

      1. Anyone would do as well. All you have to do is show up. Cook isn’t a leader, he doesn’t inspire anyone at Apple to get serious about product experience or deadlines. Meanwhile the executive suite is spending all their time playing at their lifestyle pursuits, none of which have anything to do with core Apple business. Ive decorating xmas trees and scrapbookiing. Angela making amateurish videos to send to her team while she hangs out in London. Cue driving his ferrari to warriors games and hanging with Dre. If this is the executive life, then anyone with a shred of work ethic would do just fine.

  3. MDN – you show know this!

IF IT”S NOT READY DON’T SHIP – better to have a great working product then a bumbled half ass lame product!

THANKS TIM FOR NOT SHIPPING THIS TILL IT’S REALLY READY – we can wait!

    1. That’s not how things are done at Apple, or any tech company.
Windows, Flash, etc. These are ugly devices, but knock yourselves out. Men, I know it’s the latest style to wear ear rings, so this should help what that transition.

    2. @Chris Renaldi (AKA peterblood71)

You’re pathetic. Feel like a big gay man with your MDN ratings hack?

      😬

  4. I really hate those vague dates Tim provides. “In november”, ” in a few …”, “This summer”.
What kind of company does he think is running? a candy maker? a make a wish foundation?

  5. When they are ready, they will ship. When they ship, they will sell. When people buy them, the vast majority will love them. That is all that matters.

Linking everything to Christmas is getting ridiculous. The Christmas buying season is gradually spreading farther and farther anyway. And there are plenty of people ready to buy after Christmas, as well.

I am not a religious person at all. But Christmas represented something much more special in my youth. Even if you discount the religious underpinnings, it was a time to celebrate and embrace caring and mutual support and love. Now it is just another excuse to hype discounts.

    Christmas, Inc.

  6. Shipping them bug-free is more important than shipping them fast.
Shipping them bug-free in time for Christmas is worth a few late nights and weekends to make it happen.
