“Apple has been placing orders for new MacBook Pros recently and the strong shipments are expected to last until the end of 2016, since Apple is optimistic about the sales in the fourth quarter, according to sources from the upstream supply chain, who added that MacBook shipments in 2017 are also expected to stay at the same level as in 2016,” Aaron Lee and Joseph Tsai report for DigiTimes.
“The sources are seeing an increased shipment proportion of Apple’s new MacBook Pro and they expect Apple and the related revenues and profits to all enjoy growth in 2017,” Lee and Tsai report. “Thanks to the recent rising MacBook Pro shipments, some market watchers expect Apple’s MacBook shipments to reach 15 million units in 2016, with shipments staying at that level in 2017.”

I will like defer my purchase until the New Year. I need to get a custom build so will wait until supplies are not constrained and can choose where I purchase from.

Mac Pro is dead.
That means that the design of the current Mac Pro is not Pro. I know people that are still buying and upgrading cheese grater Mac Pros. The old one is a better machine.
What about all the early reports of how no one was going to be buying the new MacBook Pro because it was underpowered, had a useless Touch Bar and only came with USB-C ports? I always find it odd how there are so many negative reports on the internet about Apple products but they continue to sell relatively well to consumers. Maybe it’s just product loyalty but it’s hard to tell the exact reason. The new MacBook may not be perfect but it still seems like it could be a pretty good product. I don’t need the Touch Bar but I’m sure it could be useful to me and I definitely like Touch ID on the MacBook Pro. I wish all Macs had it but it’s probably not going to happen with any Apple product using a detachable keyboard. All I know is if I could afford a new MacBook Pro I would get one.

The classic case of consumers demanding that Apple innovate but at the same time insisting that nothing is changed.
Prob idiots buying. I won’t get one at that price point it’s way to expensive and I lose ports. I don’t care if it’s the lightest or thinnest I just want ports so I don’t have to have a dongle that I will lose or forget.
People should not have to pay this much for going backwards
