MacDailyNews Take: Genius.

Apple, give us a reason to use Apple Pay beyond looking like tech dorks in front of the line at the register. What’s the incentive to use Apple Pay? There is none besides looking like a flaming nerd. As if Apple doesn’t have any money. That, inexplicably, is how they approach Apple Pay. Hello, Tim? Eddy? Talk to some people who actually go to stores and shop for things, please.

Incentivize its use! Give Apple Pay users a percentage of every dollar spent via Apple Pay to spend at Apple Stores. Something. Anything! Get people used to using it first. Sheesh. It’s really not that difficult. It really isn’t. — MacDailyNews, August 6, 2015

  1. I use it every chance I get. I wish Apple would do everything through their secure enclave. I’d rip up every credit card I have, in a heartbeat. A financial institution of Apple banking would be ideal.

  2. I started using Apple Pay out of curiosity and didn’t find it to be super compelling. Then chipped credit cards rolled out, and it’s sooo much better/faster than those. Sometimes it takes 20 seconds for the chipped card transaction to go through, and you still have to sign after that. Crazy, and a huge opportunity for Apple!

  3. Really? Apple Pay is a joy. I don’t need any more incentive to use it. It’s great on the phone, but out of this world from the watch. Faster, easier, and more secure than a credit card.
