“Bill Belichick is throwing in the towel in his ongoing fight with the use of tablets on the sideline,” The Associated Press reports.
“Responding to a question in a conference call Tuesday about headset issues the Patriots had during last week’s win over the Bengals, Belichick said he ‘can’t take it anymore’ with the tablets, adding there isn’t enough consistency in the performance of the devices,” AP reports. “‘I’ve given them as much time as I can give them,’ Belichick said of the tablets. ‘They’re just too undependable for me.'”
“The decision comes after Belichick was caught on camera slamming down a sideline tablet following a Bills touchdown during their Oct. 2 matchup,” AP reports. “NFL spokesperson Alex Riethmiller said in a statement the league will continue to work with strategic partners like Microsoft to make sure the best systems are in place to help clubs execute their game plans.”
MacDailyNews Take: For as long as “strategic partners” like Microsoft continue to pony up hundreds of millions of dollars to shackle coaches and player with undependable crap. There, FTFY.
“Going forward, Belichick won’t be using them at all. He said he’s going to stick with low tech, printed images taken of plays during the game to help with in-game strategy on the sideline,” AP reports. “‘It’s a personal decision, I’m done with the tablets,'” he said. ‘I’ve given it my best shot. I’ve tried to work through the process but it just doesn’t work for me.'”
MacDailyNews Take: Apple should send Belichick a real iPad. We heard no complaints about iPads in use in the NFL before Microsoft paid off the league to deploy inferior Windows junk.

Microsoft has to feign success by paying entities like the NFL hundreds of millions just to use (or try to use) their ill-conceived dreck because the fact is that a single quarter of iPad Pro sales exceed the total of all Microsoft Surface tablets ever sold.

I saw the video of him this morning on Dan Patrick. It was the most emotion BB has shown in an interview ever.

… Bill is clearly aging. His football strategy is still top-rank while his ability to easily grasp new techniques is waning. If the new technology seems likely to significantly improve his ability to manage the games, believe me … he WILL learn it. If it is distracting from that ability … *SMASH*.

I’m in no way rooting for the Surface, but if you read the articles on this issue, you can see that the ENTIRE system the NFL (and MS) have set up, is completely brain-dead. The teams don’t even get to use the tablets until they get to the game itself. The teams have no opportunity to customize or troubleshoot the system during the week. Unbelievable.
I believe the NFL is in a strategic partnership whereby only Microsoft devices can be seen on camera. Anyone using an iPad would be in violation. I

I’m not versed in the ‘mo world, but this sounds a lot like two dicks trying to fuck each other. Or two a-holes?
If only that translated to good news for Apple. It seems the Surface is selling just fine, whereas the iPad with crippled functionality is not. And because Apple overcharges so much for its MacBooks, that isn’t competing well against the Surface either.
