Macy’s adds Apple Watch to over 180 stores in time for holiday season, opens ‘The Apple Shop’ in Herald Square store

“On Friday, Macy’s opened The Apple Shop, a permanent addition to its Herald Square store in New York City, selling Apple Inc. iPhones, iPads and other items,” Tonya Garcia reports for MarketWatch.

“It’s the only store to have the hub at this time,” Garcia reports, “though the Apple Watch will be available at more than 180 stores nationwide and on the company’s website.”

Garcia reports, “Macy’s says it will open one hour earlier this year on Thanksgiving, at 5 p.m., to begin Black Friday sales, with most stores staying opening until 2 a.m.”

  1. Desperate time calls for desperate measures.

    They need to move the watches. Maybe Apple should also try Costco, Walmart, Kmart, 7-11 and the local Quik Mart gas station.

    Buy some gas, soda, hot dogs and Doritos, then pick up an Apple watch as well. it will sell more than what they’re selling now, that’s for sure.

  3. Know what’s funny about Macy’s and Apple Pay? Try to buy a mattress in their furniture dept. and use Apple Pay. Won’t work., I tried even though it is part of Macy’s. Clerks were dumbfounded. Something about furniture isn’t really Macy’s and that is just stupid.
