Apple Store employees fired for sharing ‘intimate’ photos of female customers, co-workers and rating their appearances

“Apple Store employees in Queensland, Australia, are reportedly in hot water after a photo-sharing and customer ‘rating’ ring was uncovered by their fellow employees,” Mike Wehner reports for The Daily Dot.

Courier-Mail reports that four male employees have been fired from the Apple Store location when it was discovered that they had engaged in a female-rating game, and had been covertly snapping photos of female customers and even their own co-workers,” Wehner reports. “‘One person would take a photo and add it to the chat and others would give the person or their butt or their boobs a rating out of 10 and they would add their own side commentary,’ according to a statement given by one Apple Store staff member to Courier-Mail.”

Wehner reports, “It would appear the only piece of good news to come out of Apple’s investigation is that no photos were actually stolen from customers’ iPhones for use in the creepy photo-sharing game.”

“Apple confirmed an inquiry and said “several” jobs had been terminated,” BBC News reports. “But it said its inquiry had so far not shown that any photos had been stolen. No one had been photographed without consent, the inquiry had indicated.”

“The newspaper said the possible privacy breach came to light after a fellow employee noticed a store technician looking through a customer’s phone in the repair room,” The Beeb reports. “One staff member told the newspaper they were concerned the same thing was happening in other Australian Apple stores, including in Sydney.”

“The Australian Privacy Commissioner is also looking into the alleged privacy breach,” The Beeb reports. “‘We are aware of the reports and will be making enquiries with Apple to seek further information,’ said commissioner Timothy Pilgrim.”

        1. Eugene: there are several issues here that you never learned because your dad left me for another troll.
          1) real men are very discrete when they glance at women
          2) you are not a real man, you’re a troll
          3) taking photos and sharing them is a childish thing to do and the nature of these photos makes it misogynistic
          4) the whole issue that Donald Trump (and you) seem to miss is that you are not showing respect for women as people by treating them as objects.

I am sorry if I used too big of words in explaining this to you but this is as low as I can get.

        2. This is the shameful type of behaviour that Trump supporters now think is acceptable. Shame on you Eugene. You can rise up to be a person of noble character.

        3. Actually, it was Bill CLINTON that taught Americans to be accepting of this type of activity. He accustomed and conditioned the public. Nice try lumping all Trump supporters together though… oh the accepting left.

        4. Dear botvinnik’s mom

I left you because I found all those furry toys in your closet, and because your sister is better than what you promised Bill Clinton in exchange for his support to abort millions of blacks and hispanics.

Go get back to the kitchen and make Janet Reno her sandwich.

    1. … are jerks sharing photos of women does not mean they are hetero.
… and then Boty chimes in with an un-called for politically-based comment about a grandmother.
Look … the creeps were acting childishly. Someone more mature objected. Just because a couple of freaks would act the same way does NOT justify stupid, off-topic, comments.

      1. Produce facts and not something you heard on FOX. And don’t go pulling out some BS about e-mails and embassies unless you are also going to show hard criminal intent and discuss Junior Bush’s issues with e-mails and embassies.

        1. Well, let’s review…Hillary Merkel loathes “Catholics” “everyday Americans” “needy Hispanics” “Southerners” “the Irredeemable Deplorables” “Bill’s rape accusers”….etc.

That leaves about one American resident she doesn’t loathe:

          George Soros

      1. Mr GOP (Gang of Perverts),
You do know Drumpf met with Bill Clinton shortly before declaring and Bill encouraged him to run.

My guess is that Drumpf took his WWE routine to the GOP to sabotage your party and grease the skids for Hillary Rodham Clinton. He really does not give a shit if he punks you guys and I know Hillary doesn’t mind him sabotaging the RepubliCON Party.

I am no fan of the Clintons- never voted for any of them and have no intention of ever voting for them. The Clintons are sleazy Grifters that think themselves above the law. But you are facing about a 90% chance of Hillary winning the White House, a pretty good chance you will lose the Senate and about a 33% chance of seeing the return of Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

        Drumpf is punking the Teabaggers.

        1. What you are saying is a fairly fresh conspiracy theory that has been gaining some traction. As far as such conspiracy theories go, it is quite more plausible than the Parkinson’s one (and certainly more than the birthers’ one), but it is still out there.

However, if I were to entertain that theory, I would say that Trump may have originally come into this with the intent of helping the Clintons (in exchange for some favour later), but after tasting the intoxicating adoration of the crowds, and realising that he actually may have a shot at it, he turned around and decided to take the ball and run with it.

If that is the case, I wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up coming to Clintons after the election to collect on the original deal….

For all of us foreigners, this has now turned into the most entertaining American presidential election in the history. Now that the outcome is clear, the entertainment value is so much greater.

    1. I think what is most problematic is that we live in a post-factual world, where actual, demonstrable, verifiable truths are disregarded as partisan. I mean, all it takes to create a “fact” upon which people will rely is a good imagination, as evidenced in this thread. There is a reason Trump is doing so poorly with college-educated whites. For the most part, we understand the difference between fact and fiction. The media is selling advertising by the boatload because it has rigged the game for its own bottom line. It creates false equivalencies and refuses to challenge blatant untruths masquerading as “fact.” I still do not believe in the end she will lose the election, but what has been created during this process will damage us for years to come.

    2. Bill Clinton cheats on his wife. Impeach him. Trump proudly brags about sexual assault (and has cheated on his wives). Elect him. Hillary oversaw the department of state while 4 people died in an embassy attack. Put her in jail. 2 Republicans were in office while over 200 people died in embassy attacks. No problem. Immigrants don’t pay taxes. Round them up and kick them out. Trump doesn’t pay taxes. He’s a business genius. Hillary’s foundation only spent 87% of their donations helping people. She’s a crook. Trumps foundation paid off his debts, bought sculptures of him, and made political donations to avoid investigations while using less than 5% of funds for charity (and he got shut down by NY State). So savvy… Put him in the white house. Trump made 4 billion dollars in 40 years, when an index fund started at the same time with the same “small loans” he received would be worth $12 billion today… without a trail of bankruptcies, thousands of lawsuits and burned small business owners. He’s a real business whiz. Hillary took a loss of $700k. She’s a criminal. Trump is the first candidate in the modern era not to release his tax returns, and took a billion dollar loss in 1 year. Genius. Hillary takes responsibility for private email servers and apologizes. Not credible. Trump denies saying things (on the record) he actually said (on the record), he’s just telling it like it is.
Your arguments are thin. Your ignorance of reality is shocking. Your double-standards are offensive, and your willingness to blindly support him and recycle the rhetoric is absurd. Your opinion is not fact. Your memes are not news articles. And your hypocrisy is not a platform. And oh, BTW botvirnnik, I’m happy you’ve shown yourself so Trumpian. You’d like to hang out with Trump in the locker room, wouldn’t you, with your big word insults?

      1. Perfect example of Democrat denial.
Clinton wasn’t impeached for cheating; he was impeached for lying under oath and obstructing justice.
The four deaths under Hillary were after countless pleas for more security and help. Afterward, she lied about the attack.
The ignorance goes on and on.

        1. Well, let’s review that “post-factual”. Everything that WhitIV said stands undisputed. Bill Clinton was indeed impeached after he cheated. Obviously, since cheating isn’t an impeachable offense (it is a private matter, although id IS a point of moral integrity for a public figure), they impeached him on lying about cheating and obstructing of justice (in the investigation for cheating).

And the four deaths under Clinton are still significantly fewer than hundreds (and eventually thousands) of deaths caused by the war that was started after GWB lied to the world about WMDs, and in that process profoundly compromised the integrity of a man ho had the best chance of becoming first black president (and who would have likely won in a landslide against Obama). A republican, mind you…

        2. What a poor little excuse for an American… Your country is very fortunate that most of its inhabitants are the very opposite of you: friendly, understanding and polite. I’ve had a fortune to meet quite many of them, some were progressive, some were deeply conservative and religious, but all were polite, friendly and tolerant.

    3. Today, millions of Americans who plan to vote for Trump are apparently countenancing violence against their neighbors, people who might be different from them, perhaps Muslim or Latino. It’s easy to inject the virus of hatred: just point a gun.

That Trump traffics in violence is irrefutable. His movement wants action — deportations, arrests, assassination and torture have been mooted. The most worrying thing is not that Trump likes Vladimir Putin, the butcher of Aleppo, but that he apes Vladimir Putin.
