Analysts: Apple ‘frantically’ trying to meet surging iPhone demand

“Apple’s iPhone 7 went on sale last Friday, and some models instantly sold out, prompting the Street to compile its best guesses as to how Apple is doing with supply and demand,” Tiernan Ray reports for Barron’s.

“The most bullish note today is from John Donovan and Steve Mullane of BlueFin Research Partners, who had written on the topic a week ago,” Ray reports. “The authors today write that Apple is ‘frantically asking component suppliers to pull in deliveries in a mad rush to deliver incremental iPhone 7 units by year end,’ citing higher-than-expected for the new device.”

“The authors see Apple ‘enjoying a perfect storm thanks to carrier programs and the ongoing Samsung saga,’ and AAPL is ‘putting the screws to the component base to meet surging demand,'” Ray reports. “The analysts are raising their shipment estimates for the quarter ending this month, for all iPhone models, to 45 million, up one million from their last count; and they now model the company contracting for 82 million units in the December quarter — the total “build” count — up from 78 million estimated previously, with shipments of 78 million, up from 76 million previously.”

        1. “the gratifying legitimate situation that see’s SamSplode’s ass on the fire”
You’re quite simply the biggest loon I’ve seen online for some time.
There is a very good chance that you are suffering from some form of mental illness if this is what gets you off every day.

I would very seriously consider consulting a mental health professional.

        2. “we get MDN to drop kick you off this site troll”
Insulting does not work, so resort to threats.

Nobody, and I mean **nobody** that is sane types the sort of demented, asinine bilge you routinely vomit up here pal.
It’s why I posted the link:

“… the associations between sadism and GAIT (Global Assessment of Internet Trolling) scores were so strong that it might be said that online trolls are prototypical everyday sadists.”
“Dark Tetrad” (personality traits: narcissism, Machiavellianism, psychopathy, and sadism) scores were highest among people who said trolling was their favorite Internet activity.”

That article and the research to which it refers describe you to a tee.

        3. I know it’s hard to admit your trollhood. You’re working & spitting up quite a head of bellicose specious steam befitting an angry mental case. You don’t even understand my initial comment was meant to be humorous but being the humorless & soulless troll you are you can’t see who the sickie truly is here (hint: it’s you).

        4. Ok, that’s hilarious.

You’re just ranting now, cramming as many of your favorite insult words as you can into one sentence.
What the heck is a “head of bellicose specious steam”? That entire sentence looks makes NO sense.
          😀

The difference between you and me (aside from the obvious fact that you’re a nut job) is that tomorrow I’ll be busy getting on with life, whereas you will be still here – I guarantee it – looking for evil trolls and posting yet more tripe.
          You can’t help it.

So.. which of us is the troll?
          (Hint: it ain’t me.)

        5. Me ranting? You won that award by a landslide here with your first cluelessly vitriolic post. Love listening to yourself much?

I understand you wouldn’t recognize clever word play going over your head by a country mile. Sorry I don’t speak monosyllabically so you can understand. All my MANY friends would laugh in your face by how hilariously sanctimonious and judgMENTAL you’re being without a leg to stand on.

Troll is in your blood. There is no other reason on God’s green earth for you to come on and attack me except for being an utter douche bag with a faux superiority complex. You’ll be getting on with your life? Yeah sure, that’s why you can’t tear yourself away from trolling here, which IS your life.

        6. Well, I’ll be honest, I was just curious to see if it was true that you get notifications when someone replies to one of your comments. I noticed in other places you seemed to be right back with a reply when someone answered your stupidity.
It appears you do indeed. 😀 😀 😀

Do you know what that is called?
          Obsession.

I’m not the only one that thinks you’re a loon either. You get this from plenty of others.
You need to take the hint and get some help.

I don’t know, I’m not a psychologist, maybe you were bullied at school (maybe you were the bully) or you were abused, and now you use the internet to pay people back, who even knows.
Who cares? You’re just another sadistic internet lunatic that the world can happily ignore.

So I tell you what, how about you count the number of times I post comments in the coming week, and how many times you post your blathering bullshit, and we’ll see who is the troll.

I doubt that you can go even one damn day.

        7. Unlike you I do not truly hide my identity and use a WordPress account – you see them as names in blue. Names like yours in black are basically more anonymous and can be cowardly. When I check for new news stories it indicates at the top right that someone has replied to one of my posts. (If you understood the Internet and knew these kinds of accounts at all you’d know this.) Usually they aren’t total adrenaline-jacked self-righteous loons like you and the posts and responses are civil ones. That’s hardly an “obsession.” And most who have Word press accounts do likewise.

But seeing as you pride yourself on being an armchair psychiatrist i suggest you apply those skills to someone sorely in need – you. You love turning molehills into mountains. And no I do not get this from “plenty of others” disingenuous one. Only other fools like you who think they need to prove something. You’re the one with the severe personality disorder.

I don’t give a shit about whether you like my “blathering bullshit” or not asshole. It’s a free country. I’ll post whenever I feel like it and will certainly not give lunatics like you another thought. Now please, medicate yourself and go away kid. You’re losing your fizz.

  1. The anal-ysts probably figured they’ve driven the Apple stock price low enough.

Now they’re doing their best to drive it up again… so they can drive it down again.

    Rinse, repeat.

    1. It appears Apple’s stock rally is a thing of the past. Time for the stock to drop to the $110 level again. There’s nothing Apple can do to hold up this stock. As soon as the stock goes up, the steady profit-taking begins. I’m guessing investors don’t like the risk Apple offers with Tim Cook at the helm. Meanwhile, Amazon continues its steady climb easily pulled along by Jeff Bezos CEO skills. A competent CEO makes all the difference in the world for loyal shareholders.

  2. I remember the same brouhaha when the Gold model sold out as the “it” phone of the year. Unbelievable as it may seem, there are limitations on how fast they can crank out a quality product and not have it blow up in their face.

And yes, that was intended 🙂

    1. Cook has yet to deliver any new product in quantity to fulfill demand. He’s too cautious to spool up production before he knows exactly what version sells. In other words, the opposite of courage.
