Apple’s Jet Black iPhone 7, up close

“The iPhone 7 is here!” Daniel Bader reports for iMore. “Except for the Jet Black model, that is.”

“Unless you ordered one right when pre-orders opened, you may not be getting that particular model — all shiny ‘nine-step process of anodization and polishing,’ and extremely difficult to photograph — until later in October or even November,” Bader reports. “But we thought, this finish is so nice (and will only stay new and scratch-free for so long) we’d snap some photos with our delicious macro lens. You know, for science.”

Bader reports, “Apple has integrated the antennas, especially on the darker Jet Black and black models, so seamlessly with the aluminum chassis that it’s difficult to tell they’re there.”

MacDailyNews Take: The Jet Black iPhone 7 Plus, we can can personally attest, is truly stunning. In public, it’s a real head-turner!

  1. Totally agree! I’ve only had my jet black 7 for a few hours now and everyone wants to see it. It truly is beautiful and I haven’t seen a photo that even does it justice.

    1. Did you notice that Fox did not mention that it was a Samsung phone? If it was an Apple product, they would have led with a huge headline that it was an iPhone and repeated it throughout the ‘story’. Samsung advertises heavily with Fox. I wonder if there is a connection?

  2. I was just at the Northridge Apple Store with lots of smiling faces and happy customers in line picking up their phones. I looked at the Jet Black model and the first thing I noticed was tons of fingerprints on it as you might expect of a glossy surface, but not so or as obvious on the flat Black phone. So that’s the one I’m going with and availability will hopefully be easier. (Assuming the dual lens iPhone 7 Pro comes in that color.)

  3. At least I will put a transparent skin on the back of my jet black iPhone, when I get it.

It shouldn’t be noticeable, preserving its good looks, but add a little protection. If it doesn’t look good, I will take it off.
