Apple has addressed an issue with the iOS 10 update which the company now declares resolved.
Apple’s official statement:
We experienced a brief issue with the software update process, affecting a small number of users during the first hour of availability. The problem was quickly resolved and we apologize to those customers. Anyone who was affected should connect to iTunes to complete the update or contact AppleCare for help. – Apple Inc.

MacDailyNews Take: Issues happen. Thankfully, Apple quickly sprang into action and resolved the issue before it impacted significant numbers of users. All of our iOS 10 updates were flawless (we do use iTunes to update whenever possible).
How to make an iPhone 6 Plus sluggish and slow? iOS 10, just installed. Reminds me … iPhone 3GS.
Cook is a joke. He releases crappy software that bricks your device, after nagging you every second to update to the “latest and most hated”.
No device was “bricked”.
A little knowledge can be a really bad thing.
Not quite true. People were effectively bricked. People who had only an iPhone, no Mac, were bricked until they took the device to the store. For some people, the nearest Apple Store is hundreds of kilometres away.
I hope you’ll enjoy your infected, exploding Samsung. You do realize of course that you create your own reality? In other words- you’re a joke.
Knee jerk reaction. Let it “establish” itself after a new software.
After a reboot and a few minutes it becomes as snappy as before.
I have the iPhone 6Plus. It’s fine. Just let it finish indexing or whatever it does right after an upgrade. It actually feels a little faster to me, but I haven’t been using it enough to have a solid impression. But I like how it looks better than iOS 9.
Yeah, more negative votes, please. I bought Apple Hardware for about 250.000 Euro over the last few years from my most beloved Company. But sometimes they are shitting on their own shoes.
Check your settings to make sure the update didn’t turn on some of the more power hogging services you might normally have switched off.
Is that something the New Apple does? Sounds like Microsoft behavior. If that’s how Apple rolls now, I’m not going to rush out to update on day 1.
…Or day 365, no doubt. Trolling noted.
Let me guess, the battery sucks too now that you’re using it more playing with all the new features?
Thought so…
Crashed my iPad Pro. Luckily everything was backed up. I had to connect to iTunes to even do anything.
If your iPhone or iPad is sluggish after upgrade, try a forced reboot, Home button and Power button together until Apple logo appears. Mine are running like a scalded ape now.
power off then power on. Expect issues in the beginning. and broken apps. It’s a one way street. That is why I always wait a few weeks…..
iOS 10 update just fine. Thankfully no problems except it sucks. iMessage features only good sending to an Apple running ios10. Useless gimic. The notification page sucks. The old version was nicer.
I hope they put in some preferences so users could adjust some features.
On the bright side, one review shows screen shots with the “flatness” going away slightly. More gradients and less preschool colors. I still miss iOS 6 look.
No, it does not have a problem sending to lower than iOS10. Those that do not have iOS do not have the capability to understand the new features. That is not the fault of IOS10.
Imagine sending a note written in English to someone who only speaks American. yep, same problem.
“… a note written in English to someone who only speaks American.”
Ain’t it the truth, lol.
Actually, based on how fast iPhone users upgrade, you’ll have tens of millions of people to send messages to in just a few weeks, and hundreds of millions by the end of the year. Hardly a gimmick.
I updated mine, and still the phone no working and I did power off and on, phone still not working.
any advise ?
Same here! The screen displays the iTunes connect logo, nothing works, restoring through iTunes (iTunes updated and mac restart), force restart of phone etc etc: same logo. Phone seems bricked.
same here – can’t use phone to call, seems like everything but phone works, messaging works
updating the carrier settings resolve my issue (verizon on iPhone 5)
To the complainers: At least your iDevice did not burn down your house! Chill!
Updated my iPhone, my iPad, iTunes, my Apple TV, my Apple Watch, and my iPod – all at the same time. No problemo.
Put your left arm in, put your left arm out, do the hokey pokey and shake it all about…
