    1. Wow is Apple boring now. Steve Jobs has officially left the building. I like the camera updates and the performance improvements are as always welcomed. But as a 6 Plus owner, I have zero reason to upgrade. My phone has effectively the exact same design as the iPhone 7, same screen, and same software. I have LTE, ApplePay, TouchID, big Retina screen.

I want fast charging, wireless charging, charging with body movements, OLED screen, small bezels, less physical buttons, non-aluminum body, unbreakable glass…

And the Apple Watch? Yawn. Same. old but now with a GPS chip and brighter screen. Same tiny size screen. Same 1 day battery life. Same hamstrung software…

        1. Mike:

          Agreed.

I just went and watched bits of the first iPhone launch with Steve Jobs. Wow. Now that’s innovation and excitement.

Tim Cook cannot lead Apple other than doing the status quo. Ya, Cook, you have a really good camera in the iPhone and some 1000 enigneers probably assigned to it.

But nothing is really changing otherwise. Put my iPhone 1 next to my iPhone 6 Plus and turn on the screen. They look basically the same.

Good old Cook, a man in John Sculley’s clothing.

And what is with the karaoke… this is all about you I guess Cook, isn’t it. Your gay rights. Political crusades… Meanwhile the products are stale.

      1. I didn’t say I was going to play the game. I just mean, Nintendo admitted to the world, they pulled out a white flag and caved in… But I know some Mario fans and this is a win for them.

        1. Boy do I agree with that. Of course some poor souls have dull wasteful lives anyway and can afford to expend their precious time on Earth playing useless video games. For creative types and many others this waste of time is an anathema. But as always they can do what they like. It’s their life to waste.

  1. Where did they find these people? I feel like I’m at a Toastmaster’s icebreaker. The iWork woman is painful. I can’t watch it. Plus they need to hire more people to clap in the audience. The lackluster applause is embarrassing.

These people make Elon Musk sound like Martin Luther King, Jr.

    1. > Plus they need to hire more people to clap in the audience

That’s something Microsoft or Samsung would do.

To be frank there’s been nothing so far (just starting Apple Watch intro) that’s deserving of the raucous applause of yesteryear’s events.

    1. Agree totally, but this is BIG $$$ for Apple with almost zero extra investment and zero risk.

      Same for Same for SuperMario.

When both of these useless games go the way of the Dodo, Apple will have more $$$, users and hardware in the wild.

    1. I have hummingbirds visiting, liking the salvia and lantana I put in. They hang around long enough for an iPhone shot before darting off—I wonder if the new cameras can still the flutter of their wings, like my 6s can do with butterflies.

    1. They killed it for you FB users who are used to blurry photos. This is nothing compared to a real dslr. Really a 2x zoom, stop the presses. A camera lens will NEVER be able to do what a quality DSLR lens can do, that’s just a fact of physics, just get over it already.

    1. From the promo page:
What’s a chip doing in there?
      A whole lot

All the groundbreaking things AirPods can do are driven by the custom-designed Apple W1 chip. It produces extremely efficient wireless for a better connection and improved sound. And the W1 chip manages battery life so well, you can listen for 5 hours on a single charge. It’s performance that’s unheard of in a device this small.

From the demo and the text above, I have to assume that there is no Bluetooth involved, hurray. I have to assume these are entirely Wi-Fi devices. They work with all Macs and iDevices. There is no ‘pairing’ involved. I’d assume there has to be a service running on each device in order to recognize and auto-connect to the AirPods, which themselves are either connected or not connected. But we’ll have to wait until October for actual specs. If memory serves, they cost $169.

Excellent Lightening storage case with a 24 hour charge buffer for recharging the AirBuds. Excellent idea! So Apple! 🏆 😀

    1. This is not the venue for new Macs.. wait until next month…

Traditionally Macs and iPads have been introduced separately from iPhone and Apple Watch.

I want to see new Macs too – but don’t want to hear the complaints right now… Just be patient.

        1. Mmm. Lovely app. That’s for those who don’t want Apple’s software automating their image taking for them, something akin to using the iPhone like a real SLR.

The new iPhone 7 camera does offer a few of the features of the 645pro app, but still not all of them. I suspect the app will be update for the iPhone 7. Whether the results compare favorably to a real SLR, I wouldn’t know. But it looks fun for the purists.

    1. From the specs: Video Recording

      • 4K video recording at 30 fps
      • 1080p HD video recording at 30 fps or 60 fps
      • 720p HD video recording at 30 fps
      • Optical image stabilization for video
      • Optical zoom at 2x; 6x digital zoom (iPhone 7 Plus only)
      • Quad-LED True Tone flash
      • Slo-mo video support for 1080p at 120 fps and 720p at 240 fps
      • Time-lapse video with stabilization
      • Cinematic video stabilization (1080p and 720p)
      • Continuous autofocus video
      • Body and face detection
      • Noise reduction
      • Take 8-megapixel still photos while recording 4K video
      • Playback zoom
      • Video geotagging

  2. Not one word about new Macs or iPads.

    No word on macOS Sierra.

I might check out those ear pods and one of those new beats headphones.

I need to wait 12 months for my iPhone upgrade as I have a 6s plus.
