“Apple will be announcing the iPhone 7 for real in just a few hours, but if you are itching for the latest, we have one set of purported new iPhone images for you before Apple’s event at 10 AM PT,” Benjamin Mayo reports for 9to5Mac. “The photos apparently show a working 4.7 inch iPhone 7 unit in high resolution”
“The pictures feature close-up looks at the new larger camera, 4-LED camera flash, redesigned rubber gasket SIM tray and a shot of the new ‘dark black’ iPhone 7 color variant,” Mayo reports. “Whereas the current iPhone 6s uses a True Tone Flash, it only has two LEDs inside the lens were one is warm and one is cooler. As reported over the weekend, the iPhone 7 will include a redesigned, brighter, True Tone Flash that contains 4 distinct LEDs.”
“The iPhone 7 is widely rumored to be the first iPhone to tout its waterproofness,” Mayo reports. “It will apparently have the same IPX7 waterproof rating as the current Apple Watch, which allows for submersion in 1 metre of water for 30 minutes… Apple is actually rumored to be releasing two new iPhone colors, Dark Black and a glossy Piano Black finish.”

MacDailyNews Take: Okay, we might want the glossy Piano Black finish (as long as it comes with the black face, which we’d expect it would). We always liked the finish on the iPhone 3G (even if it was unapologetically plastic). In metal, it’ll be even more spectacular!
Maybe. But it looks like there’s a lot of wear in the black finish along the edges and around the camera bulge. Hopefully that won’t be the case on the production models, because it would make resale more difficult if you maintain them without a protective case.
Not really. Wifi, umts/lte, Bluetooth, etc… Have a really hard time going through metal. That’s why the band are there. Now if liquid metal eliminates some of these issues, then they may be able to eliminate bands. But metal does not like radio signals and vice versa.

I’m tired of seeing the antenna bands. Can’t Apple just make them without these glaring lines? It looks terrible to me.

Yes but is has some similar properties to glass, so it’s possible. I’m not saying it’s likely, just possible.
