Apple patent application reveals Apple Watch Band with embedded haptics

“Today, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office published a patent application from Apple that reveals a future Apple Watch band having embedded haptic actuators to provide users with stronger feedback to notices and more,” Jack Purcher reports for Patently Apple.

“The core Apple Watch component can communicate with one or more haptic actuators in the band which would allow Apple to have more room within the Watch to either add new components like a camera or to make the Watch thinner,” Purcher reports. “An activation signal can be sent at select times to a single haptic actuator or to groups of two or more haptic actuators.

Purcher reports, “Haptic stimulation can act as notifications for one or more events, such as the receipt of an email, a text message, a news story, a stock price, a reminder, and/or a low power state of a power source in the electronic device.”

  1. I know this will sound like I am kidding, but I am actually not.

I want a device I can swallow and it keeps tracks of all the calories, carbs, proteins, etc that I eat. It just stays there and never leaves the stomach. It syncs with my iPhone and gives me readings of what is going on inside of my body.

Yes, I know this sounds impossible. But in 10, 20 years from now, who knows.

All I know is I have counting calories and measuring my food. A lot of people do. And it’s not just for weight loss. Maybe health reasons too.

    1. Imagine the possibilities if Apple develops VR. You could point your phone’s camera at your mouth and it could analyze your intake without you having to swallow some foreigh object tn analyze what’s in your stomach!
