“Ten years after the launch of the first iPhone, Apple could be planning to unveil a “killer new product” developed within its health laboratories, a new report claims,” Neil Hughes reports for AppleInsider.
“The rumor stems from Taiwan’s Economic Daily News, which claims that the new product will ‘accurately collect users’ personal daily life including heart rate, pulse, blood sugar changes and other information,'” Hughes reports. “It was said that technical director Jay Blahnik and Apple’s health-focused development team have been working on the mysterious new product for more than two years.”

Bravo Apple. Let’s save the world one person at a time. I can’t wait to place all my health related info in one place. I hope the data collection is robust and accurate. Whether it takes the form of an Apple Watch health, an iPhone health, or something inbetween that is optimized for data collection, I can’t wait. For those analysts on wall street that have derided apple, the potential customer base for this product is everyone on planet earth. Bring it on. All hail the Internet of your body. Can’t wait till it ships!
Health is why perfect security is suddenly more important to Apple than ever. (Incidentally no one wants self-driving cars that can be virtually hijacked either. Imagine a swarm of self-driving vehicles all being controlled at once by Russian hackers .)
Perfect is impossible, right? Probably. Almost certainly. But Apple HAS to be the most secure company on earth if they’re going to be the next generation’s key innovator; privacy must begin to be sacred, revered and protected vigorously.
You sure have to have a fetish for violence when you describe a health tracking hardware device as a “killer new product”.

I don’t like the watch now because it’s too large. I certainly wouldn’t want something else to wear in addition. They’re just trying to get sensors passed, not medicines or anything. I’m sure they could speed things along if they really wanted to. If it’s a separate item, I’m out.
