“Look around and you’ll find speculation about Apple Watch, iPhone, Apple Car and the Mac, but no one seems to be speculating about ‘the future of computing,'” Jonny Evans writes for Computerworld. “What’s up with that?”
“However, if you think about some of the more prevalent iPhone and Apple Watch rumors, you can build some kind of idea of what to expect from iPad Pro 2,” Evans writes. “I don’t expect it will want to distract attention from iPhone 7 and Apple Watch by announcing new pro tablets next month, but it’s reasonable to hope for an October/November iPad Pro/future of the Mac event. Will Apple get rid of the iPad Air range, replacing it with a 7.9-inch iPad Pro? Might it introduce an iPad Pro Mini? (I would make so much use of the latter product.)”
“Apple is expected to shove an A10 chip inside of iPhone 7. What’s important about this is that the processor seems to be at least as fast as the A9X processor you’ll find inside the current iPad Pro. The A9X is itself a faster version of the A9 you find inside iPhone 6S phones. So just how fast might the A10X processor be? This will open up new opportunities for app development, which will itself enable developers to cut out a few more reasons to use a PC,” Evans writes. “iPad is of huge importance to Apple, and given its recent iPad ad, I expect even more Mac-like behavior in the iPad-focused iOS 10.2 update.”

I have the latest ipad mini generation (4th) and it works great. Fast, exceptional, and gold! Have no other needs now unless some new, groundbreaking features in a pro version.
I do not recall using an iPad mini. I undoubtedly picked one up in the Apple Store a few times, but I like the 9.7″ form factor of the original iPad – another thing that Steve Jobs and company got right the first time.
A mini is more portable, and that may matter a lot to some people. The iPad mini is probably great for kids, too. But I carry my iPad in a backpack pocket, so the smaller form factor of the mini is not important to me.
I am interested in the 12.9″ iPad Pro or a 9.7″ version. I am not in the market for an iPad mini Pro (which is also awkward to type with the strange capitalization).
