Parts leak revives claims of ‘Space Black’ 2016 iPhone

“A pair of photos released over the weekend show an alleged mute button for Apple’s upcoming ‘iPhone 7,’ possibly reinforcing claims that Apple will offer the device in Space Black, or at least a darker shade of Space Gra,” Roger Fingas reports for AppleInsider.

“The source of the images didn’t offer more information, except to say that the part comes from the same company supplying SIM slots for the new iPhone,” Fingas reports. “Various reports have hinted that Apple might change up its colors this year, although others have suggested Apple will keep its range intact.”

“A Space Black iPhone would further mirror the color options available to Apple Watch buyers, following the addition of Rose Gold with the iPhone 6s,” Fingas reports. “Apple’s colors are increasingly consistent across its product lines, with equivalents on 12-inch MacBooks and Beats headphones.”

MacDailyNews Take: If it comes, that’ll be our choice as we much prefer iPhones with the classic black face. We’ll settle for Space Grey again if need be.

  1. I hope it will be Dark/Pitch gloss or semi gloss black.. To make the front and back look almost the same..
    Pure Monolithic look.
I called for this when iphone 6 first came out.. Actually i was surprized that was not an available option.. Wrote Apple… etc,..

I want one yesterday Apple !

  2. I also prefer iPhones (and other iOS devices) with black around the screen (not white). Less distracting and looks better when the screen is not on, because edge of screen is not discernible.

AND a completely black iPhone would be really COOL.

  3. ” … the part comes from the same company supplying SIM slots for the new iPhone,”

I’m sad enough to be amused by the thought that there might be a company which supplies Apple with small rectangular holes.

  4. I do not understand how people look at content with a white border… It’s like whomever is in charge of Photos and the garish white around all of your pictures… It’s blinding… Especially to a blind person!
