Apple Car delivery target reportedly slips to 2021

“Project Titan news, the name given to Apple’s electric vehicle project, has been relatively quiet lately despite the expected introduction in 2020 inching closer by the day,” Zac Hall reports for 9to5Mac.

“That may be because the introduction target for Apple Car has moved back one year to 2021,” Hall reports. “Included in a profile of three brothers who are said to have worked on the Apple Car project, The Information includes this nugget: ‘One person who worked briefly with the Titan team was told during their tenure at Apple that the company had been trying to deliver a vehicle by 2020 but the target slipped to 2021.'”

“Prior to this report, it was widely believed that Apple was targeting the year 2020 to unveil its electric vehicle in some form, although that was over a year ago,” Hall reports. “There have since been multiple signs that Project Titan could have roadblocks along the way.”

  1. Conference call upon conference call, upon conference call. Apple, again and again and again has stated that they never comment on future products. And still these bloggers* speculate on future products from Apple. These bloggers* are clueless.

*bloggers, because they most certainly ain’t journalists.

    1. Damn. Almost gave you 5 stars, but then you basically claimed that “blogger” means “not journalist.” My experience has been that many people who call themselves bloggers are much better journalists than those _paid_ to do journalism. You probably agree that is true, so not sure why the dig.

      1. I gave you five stars because chances are you’re probably dead on. I interpreted this article as another baseless smear on Apple inc to manipulate the stock, which has been going on of late. I was gonna reach for the ‘ANAList’ angle but I’m sure they have become desensitized to that. Hack probably would have been more accurate.
I recall a day when I came across an article by a hack journalist claiming they had inside information from the apple board they they(Apple Board of D) were questioning Tim Cook ability to lead (pre-Apple watch timeline). At the time he worked as a CNBC contributor, now I think he works for fox, his name rhymes with Barlie Assburrinno. Why on earth would a company board member speak out in this unethical way behind a back, because he(hack journalist) wanted to manipulate? Safe to say, for the most park, manipulators are far from any definition of journalism.

  2. YOU HAVE SO MUCH SHIT ON YOUR PAGES THAT I MAY HAVE TO STOP LOOKING AT MY “FAVORITE SITE”. YOUR SITE IS MORE IMPORTANT TO ME THAN FACEBOOK, WHICH I GOT HOOKED ON BUT AM GETTING SICK OF ALSO.
I’M SICK OF IT AND YOU HAVE NO SHAME. IT’S ONE THING TO ADVERTISE STUFF TO MAKE MONEY. IT’S ANOTHER TO BASTARDIZE WHAT YOU SET OUT TO DO WITH PROVIDING THE BEST NEWS AVAILABLE AND COMMENTS. LOVE THAT. HATE THE GROSS EXASTERBATION(?) OF ADVERTS ALL OVER THE DAMN PAGE. ABSOLUTELY, UNEQUIVOCALLY SICKENED BY IT. YOU’VE BECOME JUST LIKE THOSE STUPID LINKS ON FB THAT YOU GET 1% INFO AND 99% ADVERTS. IT’S ALL BECOME BULLSHIT. I HATE TV BECAUSE OF THE DAMN ADVERTS. I LOVE APPLE TV CONCEPT AND HAVE 7 OF THEM THROUGHOUT MY HOME BECAUSE I HATE ADVERTS. COME TO THINK OF IT, YOU DO TOO. HMMMM….. THIS IS ONE OF THOSE CONUNDRUMS THAT YOU’VE GOT YOURSELF INTO, ISN’T IT? WELL, FIX IT. THE LAST STRAW WAS THE POP-IN AT TOP OF ARTICLE. THAT’S THE BALL BUSTER FOR ME.

  3. Good news is the software will be updated regularly on the car… and the familiar user interface will be nice when it happens. Better the usual “late” – too soon is not good. Apple wouldn’t want “beta-feedback” criticism on this new of a product line.

    1. I suspect consumers will have to purchase a new Apple-mobile every four years to be able to update the vehicle’s OS. That could get a bit expensive. Also, will Apple only offer vehicles in Space Gray, Gold, and Pink.

      1. That’s actually a really good idea. That way, you can tell it’s an apple car, just by the super cool colors it comes in. LOL and of course, you’d want Apple Care for your Apple Car, with a renewable replacement warranty where you get a new one every 2 years… yeah baby!
