Jefferies expects 140 million dual-camera iPhones in 2017; upgrades Largan

“By 2017, dual cameras will be the norm among the high-end, capturing 21% of the total smartphones shipped, versus 3.6% this year and just 0.4% last year,” Shuli Ren reports for Barron’s. “In 2018, Jefferies expects dual cameras to capture 34% of the total market share.”

“Taiwan’s lens manufacturer Largan Precision already advanced 28.6% this year on expectations that Apple (AAPL) will adopt dual-cameras for its iPhone 7 this fall, making Largan a rare outperformer among the smartphone hardware space,” Ren reports. “Is it too late to buy? Not too late, according to Jefferies… Apple will become Largan’s biggest customer, followed by Huawei and Samsung Electronics.”
