Apple Campus 2 drone flyover reveals much progress

“One month after his last drone flyover of Apple’s under construction Apple Campus 2 site, Matthew Roberts has sent over an update for July that gives an up-close look at progress in recent weeks,” Jordan Kahn reports for 9to5Mac.

“In the video, we see Apple is making rapid progress towards reaching its goal of completing construction by the end of the year,” Kahn reports. “As for the main circular building on the site, Apple has rapidly made progress on the installation of solar panels and fuel cells.”

Kahn reports, “Earlier this year, Apple CEO Tim Cook confirmed that Apple was still on track to have the site ready in time for early next year, at which time it will begin moving in around 13,000 of its employees. It’s also planning to start hosting events and product unveilings at its new underground Apple Theater.”

  1. It would be nice if Apple would hold an open house before they move in so shareholders and the public could get a look around. Given Apple’s penchant for secrecy, once they move in I doubt anyone will get a chance to see it unless they work or have business there.

    1. It would be really nice if Apple had been filming the whole project, from the architectural design and engineering, to Steve’s presentation at the Cupertino city council, to initial construction, to final assembly and outfit with furniture. It’s such an epic project that it should be documented. But maybe it’s just too much to expect with Apple’s culture of secrecy overshadowing everything they do.

        1. No. I have heard nothing. But one would think that we might have heard something from Apple or the architectural and construction firms about ongoing video documentation.
