MacDailyNews Take: watchOS 3 is the sort of thing you’d expect Steve Jobs’ Apple to have shipped upon the Apple Watch’s release because Jobs would have tested and sent back watchOS 1 and 2 with copious notes, demanding that the Watch team try again until they got it right.

  1. Regarding your comments, MDN, have you not yet grasped Steve Jobs is no longer alive and is thus no longer with Apple?!

I find it encouraging the new Apple is willing to make significant changes to watchOS, in order to provide an improved product. As an owner and user of Apple Watch since 12 May 2015, I’m a big fan and look forward to watch OS 3. It will make my watch even better without costing me a penny.

  2. Arnold; SJ is a young monument in the history books and will be referenced again and again going forward. I find the MDN comment interesting/relevant as “we” consider how Apple has changed. It seems like a concrete observation. Of course MDN grasps….

  3. Steve Jobs speculation is pretty irrelevant. You actually don’t know what Steve Jobs would have done. And whether or not Tum did differently what Steve would have done. Right?

  4. Is there a way to have the watch screen flash a color for a notification?
My situation: Riding lawn mower, don’t feel like wearing my bluetooth headphones that day, wear ear protection.
While mowing the vibration is enough that I never feel the iPhone or Apple Watch and obviously don’t hear it. I thought if a orange or red full screen flash every so many seconds might get my attention.
Any App out there that does this?

  5. Apple launched the iPhone without an App Store. Steve Jobs suggested that web apps were the way things were going. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves and speculate what SJ would have done with Apple Watch or the OS or that OS 1 or 2 wasn’t right on track.
