Next-gen MacBook Pro could feature Touch ID power button

A source “claims that the Home button – still a physical one in this generation – will feature haptic feedback to simulate a click, using the same approach as Force Touch,” Ben Lovejoy reports for 9to5Mac, citing “an anonymous source with absolutely no track record, so could be complete BS, but their IP address is at least located near Apple HQ and it came with some seemingly reliable info, so we’re going to put it out there.”

“This is consistent with a much earlier report suggesting a non-moving button,” Lovejoy reports. “For that to be the case, Apple could need to use a different physical button for a reset, perhaps one of the volume buttons.”
