“Baili, a Chinese device maker, has sued Apple for allegedly copying its smartphone design in the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus,” Don Reisinger reports for Fortune.
“A Chinese court recently granted Baili an injunction that would have forced Apple to remove the iPhone 6 line from store shelves,” Reisinger reports. “However, Apple quickly appealed the ruling to a higher court, which will allow it to continue selling the iPhone 6 line until that court makes its own ruling on the case.”
“The smartphone in question is Baili’s 100C, which sells under the 100+ brand,” Reisinger reports. “According to a posting on Tenna, a China-based e-commerce site, the 100C went on sale in April 2014. Apple’s iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus went on sale in the fall of 2014, which Baili has noted in its argument against Apple.”

MacDailyNews Take: Nope.
I think you can make just as strong an argument that the roots of the Baili phone are just as clearly in the previous iPhones (and other smartphones, for that matter).
Yeah, I was going to say something similar: the iPhone copies off the iPhone 2G, and it looks like the 100+ does too.
Are you guys blind it looks nothing like iPhone 6/6plus Jesus wake the f**k up
Let me guess, the trial is moving to Texas.
Cannot tell which of these phones is iPhone.
Uh, the one with the word “iPhone”
Sarcasm??
It’s the one that looks like an iPhone! Give me a break. The iPhone clearly looks like the freaking iPhone.
Is this turnaround for when the Apple lawyer took an iPad and a Samsung tablet and stood a few feet away and challenged the Samsung attorney to tell the difference during that case?
No really, likely the design filtered out to other companies in China. The design could have been easily acquired well before Apple put it to market.
The iPad was already created before the iPhone. They released the iPhone first and then the iPad later to the public.
A Chinese company suing Apple for “copying”???
Pot, meet kettle.
Find out if Baili sells anything in the US, or any other country, then sue their a** off in that country.
Chinese courts are a joke.
I don’t think Baili has to go international to significantly influence Apple.. Apple has a large enough income from China to be affected if things go south with their suit.
Heard that Donald Trump is producing the judges
I think it’s ironic that China has now banned sales of the iPhone 6 because they say it’s too similar to the completely reverse-engineered Chinese copycat. If you look in the dictionary under “Chutzpah” you’ll see a picture of the cheap Chinese knockoff.
No very deference model no
1. Steal Apple’s design,
2. Rush a POS to market before Apple releases’ their product.
3. Sue Apple.
4. Profit ????
Apple has been producing iPhones (something they invented) long before Baili. What exactly is Baili claiming Apple copied?
