Donald Trump slams Google: It’s a ‘disgrace’ if Google manipulates results to favor Hillary Clinton

“Donald Trump has responded to SourceFed’s allegation that Google manipulated its search recommendations to avoid directing users to negative results about Hillary Clinton,” Allum Bokhari reports for Breitbart.

“In a comment to Business Insider, the presumptive Republican nominee said the following: ‘If this is true, it is a disgrace that Google would do that. Very, very dishonest. They should let it float and allow people [to] see how crooked she really is,'” Bokhari reports. “Earlier today, Breitbart Tech reported on the claims, initially presented in a video from the tech channel SourceFed.”

“SourceFed’s Matt Lieberman demonstrated that Google’s search recommendations for Hillary Clinton did not include commonly searched-for combinations such as ‘Hillary Clinton crime’ and ‘Hillary Clinton indictment,'” Bokhari reports. “By comparison, search recommendations on Bing and Yahoo did show these results.”

“The video went on to draw attention to the links between Google, its CEO Eric Schmidt, Hillary Clinton, and the Obama administration,” Bokhari reports. “In short, the links between Google and the Democrats run deep.”

“WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange claims that Google has been working closely with US presidential hopeful Hilary Clinton’s campaign in efforts to promote the candidate in the race to the White House,” India Ashok reports for The International Business Times. “Speaking from the Ecuadorean embassy in London, via video conference as part of a two-day media event named ‘New Era of Journalism: Farewell to Mainstream,’ he said: ‘Google is directly engaged with Hillary Clinton’s campaign,’ the Sputnik reported.”

“Pointing out that Google’s former CEO Eric Schmidt is now heading the Pentagon’s innovation branch, Assange said: ‘Google is heavily integrated with Washington power, at personal level and at business level… Google which has increasing control over the distribution channels… is intensely allying itself with the US exceptionalism,'” Ashok reports. “Assange is not the only one to have identified a connection between Clinton’s campaign and Google. Behavioural psychologist Dr Robert Epstein said in an interview that Schmidt has set up a little-heard-of start-up called Groundword, the sole purpose of which is ‘to put Clinton in office.'”

MacDailyNews Take: Regardless of the veracity of these claims, the dangers of having one massively dominant online search engine portal should be plainly evident to all.

For those who might dispute that statement because of political party affiliation and/or the specific search terms affected in this specific report, simply imagine the Koch brothers buying and running Google tomorrow.
