No, Shahrukh Khan is not endorsing Apple in India

“No, Bollywood Badshah Shahrukh Khan is not becoming the brand ambassador for Apple in India,” The Times of India reports. “According to news agency ANI, quoting inside sources, the speculations about the actor becoming the new brand ambassador for the Cupertino giant in India are false.”

“An insider reportedly told ANI that the ‘company does not need a brand ambassador in India or anywhere else,'” TOI reports. “The report also claimed that Apple may be planning to collaborate with Red Chillies Entertainment and other Bollywood production houses for content collaboration for Apple Music and Apple TV.”

“Shahrukh Khan had hosted a dinner party for the Apple CEO Tim Cook at his residence Mannat during his recent visit to the country,” TOI reports. “His close friends from the film fraternity were also present at the party. Shahrukh Khan later tweeted, ‘Thank you all for coming & making @tim_cook & his wonderful team feel the warmth & love of India. Mr. Cook you are a rockstar!'”

MacDailyNews Take: So, there you have it. Maybe he’ll appear in an iPhone and/or Appel Watch commercial, though, like other celebs have in the past (Zooey Deschanel, Samuel L. Jackson, Alice Cooper, Chloë Sevigny, etc.)?

As for other issues:

1. The Indian people should realize that their government isn’t helping them by blocking affordable Apple Certified Refurbished iPhones, it’s subjecting them to inferior, insecure, derivative fragamndroid crap. India should approve Apple’s plan to sell Apple Certified refurbished iPhones in India. Not only would they be affordable to more consumers in India, Apple’s refurb’ed iPhones are easily better than competitors’ new phones! Why keep the Indian people shackled to inferior iPhone knockoffs when they could have the real thing?

2. As for the retail stores, that’ll be worked out eventually.
