iPhone 7 rumors: Latest feature to go is the Smart Connector

“It has barely been a year since Apple launched its latest iPhones, the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus, but rumors are already rife about the company already working on its next flagship smartphone, the iPhone 7,” Liezl Dunuan reports for The Christian Post.

“The latest leak according to a report in Forbes comes courtesy of Japanese blog Macokatara, which claims that the next iPhone will not have the ‘Smart Connector’ feature that is Apple’s most recent innovation among its devices. Macokatara referred to a leaked image of an iPhone 7 prototype, which showed the absence of said feature,” Dunuan reports. “The Smart Connector feature was earlier introduced with the new iPad Pro tablet range, which allowed accessories such as a Smart Keyboard to be connected to the tablet via the Lightning port for both data transfer and power.”

Dunuan reports, “Design-wise, the iPhone 7 is also rumored to have the same design as its predecessor, the iPhone 6S.”

  1. > It has barely been a year since Apple launched its latest iPhones, the iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus…

How can we trust the accuracy of a source that can’t even read a calendar…? iPhone 6S/Plus were released for sale in late September 2015. It’ll be another FOUR MONTHS until it’s “barely a year.”

        1. Your post is just as inane as they generally are. This one also shows that you have absolutely no understanding of the history of the events. If you did know what you were talking it would be fairly apparent as to why Riggs was the opponent.

And what any of this has to do with iPhone rumors is beyond me.

Honestly, why do you even bother to post here?

        2. lol – that isn’t how it happened at all.

If these comments were coming from anybody else, the sheer ignorance of the actual history would be staggering.

However, given who is making the comments, I’m only mildly surprised.

          Dolt.

    1. I agree with everything said.

On top of that, I don’t want a smart connector on my iPhone 7 Plus. I do want the sleep/wake button on top though. If they do that, then they can take the audio jack. Give and take.

Now, it is late Sunday and MDN has been dead for practically 48 hours. What’s up with that?

  2. “the iPhone 7 is also rumored to have the same design as its predecessor, the iPhone 6S.”

I laugh every time I hear someone judge how much they think the iPhone has or has not innovated based on how the outside case looks.

  3. President Obama and is socialist government will not like this and Donald Trump will be keen to ensure this happens to make AMERICA GREAT AGAIN. Stuff the DEMOCRATS.

    1. If the Republican party had honest coherent principles they would front an honest coherent candidate.

If the Democratic party had an honest uncorrupted candidate they would front an honest uncorrupted candidate.

The reason we are in this mess is the Constitution limits three branches of government but didn’t think to also limit party seats and terms so we are left with a choice that is really no choice at all.

      1. We are in this mess for reasons quite different than your little list. First and foremost is a corrupt campaign finance system in which the fox is in charge of the hen house. Second is a lack of term limits. Third – the only protection we have on the excesses of any branch of Federal government is the Constitution. The only part you got right after the second paragraph is the part about a lack of term limits.

  4. I hope the 7 doesn’t look the same as the 6. At the very least Apple needs to eliminate the protruding camera and antenna lines. Of all the iPhones so far, the 6 design is my least favorite. I’d like to see them go back to the shape of the 4/5.
