MacDailyNews Take: Our condolences to family and friends.

Most people who at some time in their lives think about suicide decide to live because they come to realize that the crisis is temporary and death is permanent. On the other hand, people having a crisis sometimes perceive their dilemma as inescapable and feel an utter loss of control.

These are some of the feelings and thoughts they experience:

• Can’t stop the pain
• Can’t think clearly
• Can’t make decisions
• Can’t see any way out
• Can’t sleep, eat or work
• Can’t get out of depression
• Can’t make the sadness go away
• Can’t see a future without pain
• Can’t see themselves as worthwhile
• Can’t get someone’s attention
• Can’t seem to get control

    1. With all due respect to Edward Mackowiak, along with his family and friends. I think Edward deserved more than cut and paste. Although excellent words… those are not the words of MDN. Google search the same words and you will see they are used over and over again.

      RIP Edward

      1. Oh, piss off Petty Bill. What’s wrong with taking some excellent words and sharing them. If they are good, they SHOULD be used over and over again. No need to reinvent the wheel.

  1. Indications are that he suffered from clinical depression. One of the worst days of my life occurred when I learnt of the suicide of someone I greatly admired, Davis Foster Wallace. I aspired to learn more from this perceptive and ingenious thinker (This is water) and was even setting up a philosophical fan club for him when the news of his giving in to the horror of daily existence hit me like a randomly thrown brick. For him and too may others, depression is suffocating: when you can’t breathe, nothing else matters.

    1. Really? No love for a dead fellow human? No pity for grieving parents and family? We don’t have to like what he did, approve of how he did it, or support his decision to do it but stop being a “tough guy” and think about what has happened. Someone who is clearly mentally ill or suffering terribly from real or perceived troubles choose to kill himself and do irreparable harm to his friends and family. Take a second…think about what has really happened and TRY to feel the love.

  2. If we are meat. If there is no God. If Jesus did not rise from the dead, suicide is as rational a choice as any other. Why should the conscious mind be prisoner of the selfish gene. All else is simply sentiment.

  3. I suffer from depression everyday myself. It’s a demon you cannot fight alone. I know the feelings. It hurts. You feel like the purpose of life is meaningless, and that everything you do won’t amount to anything. It is SO HARD to fight… I’m really sorry… ;_;

  4. Dispatch recording obtained from Broadcastify.com indicates that a female employee on the Apple campus was escorted out of a building by security Wednesday morning, and had sustained an injury to the head, possibly from a gun. Two minutes later the dispatcher talks about a dead body found in one of the conference rooms, with a gun nearby. How the woman is related to the man’s death is not clear.
