Apple Watch sales predicted to double this holiday shopping season, hit 12 million units for 2015

“Based on checks with Apple retail stores last Friday, analyst Daniel Ives of FBR & Co. has predicted that Apple Watch sales could reach 6 million in the December quarter,” Neil Hughes reports for AppleInsider. “If true, that would double his estimated total sales to date of 6 million.”

“Apple has not revealed specific sales figures for the Apple Watch, citing competitive reasons,” Hughes reports. “But the company has revealed that sales have continued to grow since the product went on sale, while financial filings reveal total sales topped at least $1.7 billion in the first five months.”

“Apple also revealed in July that the Apple Watch had outsold the first-generation iPad through its first nine weeks,” Hughes reports. “For perspective, Apple sold 3 million iPads in the touchscreen tablet’s first 80 days.”

  1. Got my watch last week. (Black Friday deal, early sale)

A few things need to be changed, but beyond that I like it. Get past the price tag and it is very useful.

8gb storage though… Apple needs to make watch 2.0 have 16 minimum.. And much more than 2gb available for music.

    1. Storage is a non-issue for me. Whatever music I play is stored on my phone which is essential to get the most out of the watch anyway. AS MDN said, wear it for two weeks and you wont want to go without it. I’ve worn it every day since mid-July. Reading reviews or playing with it at the store alone won’t convince you. Return it within 14 days if you don’t like it.

      1. Problem is that most of my day I’m *not* allowed to have my iPhone with me… I can get away with my iPod most of the time, but can’t have the phone at all.

That’s why I want the watch to have more storage. My 1 playlist is a little over 4gb, but I have entire albums/artists loaded on the iPod as well as my iPhone.

Like the watch, just needs some changes.
