“Apple has released the fifth beta version of OS X El Capitan 10.11.2 to Mac users in the beta testing programs,” OS X Daily reports.
“The new beta arrives as build 15C48a and continues to focus on improving reliability and compatibility of OS X El Capitan,” OS X Daily reports, “with a particular emphasis on networking, wi-fi, Mail, Calendar, Graphics, Notes, USB, Photos app, and Spotlight.”
OS X Daily reports, “The Public Beta of the same release is also available, as Apple typically coincides release of public beta and developer beta builds.”

I downloaded it today and performance is noticeably improved!
Apple must be getting close to the final OS X 10.11.2 release as this beta seems rock solid.
I’m not holding my breath, but I’d love to see the cover flow view option back in Finder when adding an attachment to an email. This view is normally available in Finder, but not when attaching something in Gmail or Fastmail for example as it used to be. If anyone knows if this can be changed, I’d be glad to hear it.
Every beta in recent memory “claims” that improvements are being made to Mail. Really? I continue to receive e-mail “not addressed” to me; e-mail from porno sites with other people’s names (I’m 70 years old – give me a break!); rules that don’t work and haven’t for quite some time; and log-in nightmares (for my wife on her MacAir with a different e-mail client). OS 10.11.1 is the worst update I’ve ever had the displeasure of dealing with: And isn’t it interesting that Apple had created a situation in which one can’t delete a current install and go back to an earlier OS. Coincidence? I think not. How much worse can Apple make the user’s experience?
Rules that don’t work?
Delete them and re-add them. Changes in the mailbox structure might have broken your rules.
Restore to precious OSX?
I can’t recall this ever being possible. Ever. If you wish to go back, download the installer, burn to a thumb drive, and reinstall OSX. But watch out for “data upgrades” that might break you apps.

Is your machine locked? If not, you might want to ask your grandson to stop watching porn on your computer.
Oh no, I’m not getting into betas again. I’m tired of testing for Apple when they never fix the bugs I report, simple, way out there bugs that should have been picked up when testing was performed.

Yeah, I have to say, both my computers seem to making much more efficient use of RAM with this update. A noticeable improvement over the beta 4. I’m impressed.
I would like to see the Apple Software People fix as many bugs in a new OS before it is released to the public. I still think that the new OS released every year is way to quick. I have read that Apple is already working on Mac OS X 10.12.x (fuji), which is downright crazy. Get Mac OS X 10.11.x El Capitan working before working working on a new OS! I wonder what Steve Jobs would say about this new OS release every year if he was still living today when the current OS is buggy as all get out???
