“Apple plans to start selling the 12.9-inch iPad Pro on Wednesday, November 11th via both its physical retail and online stores, according to multiple sources,” Mark Gurman reports for 9to5Mac.
The new iPad Pro features a 12.9-inch Retina display with 5.6 million pixels and the groundbreaking performance of the new 64-bit A9X chip which rivals most portable PCs.
iPad Pro starts at $799 for the 32GB with Wi-Fi model and $1079 for the Wi-Fi + Cellular 128GB model, comes in three metallic finishes: silver, gold and space gray.
Apple Pencil will be available for $99 and Smart Keyboard will be available in charcoal gray for $169. New polyurethane iPad Pro Smart Covers will be available for $59 in charcoal gray and white. New iPad Pro Silicone Cases will be available for $79 in charcoal gray and white.

When I was at the Eldon Square Apple Store (UK) on the 31st of October I was told by the staff that the iPad Pro would be released on the 13th with preorders on the 9th and the option to reserve and pick up in store on the 13th, as for price they said that it’ll be whatever price it is in dollars will be the amount in GBP
I am surprised that Apple is not maintaining a common color palette across its iOS lineup. No rose gold?
They will add Rose Gold mid cycle to help spur sales. They probably also think that rose gold may not be professional enough and won’t be of interest to the typical user.

Looking forward to upgrading iPad soon. My old iPad 3 its “one toke over the iOS line” with iOS 9 and “just too darned slow.” I guess 3 years and some months is EOL time.
I never bothered upgrading my Air to iOS8 and now your making me think I shouldn’t bother with 9 either. That happened with my iPad 1 too. By the time iOS 5 was out it made it unusable. Typical planned obsolescence and to be honest I’m getting f’ing tired of Apples way. I really wanted an iPad pro but now thinking twice, it will be useless in a few years.
EVERYTHING is useless in a couple of years. Even us. 1-3 year cycle’s are about it for mobile devices before OS improvements slow them down too much. Much longer life cycle for Macs of course.
Airs didn’t exist on iOS 5. You sound like a troll. The earliest OS that supported the Air was iOS 7. iOS 6 and iOS 5 as you mention, won’t work on an Air even if you wanted it to. You must at least be talking about an iPad 3, as even “the new iPad” (iPad 4) only ran iOS 6, and if it was “unusable by iOS 5”, then you had to be either on the iPad 2 (which did not even have a Retina display) or the original iPad. Bitching about performance when these iPads haven’t even been on the market for half a decade is just ridiculous. You should be embarrassed you even said that.
Never mind, just saw that you turned the story around to your iPad 1. The iPad 1 had such low performing parts that it’s really no comparison between it and the very few iOS updates that supported it with any further iPad.
But, like Peter said, your internals are upgraded every year by so much that you shouldn’t expect to get more than a few years out of it if you want the latest OS.
I upgrade my iPad every 2 years, on the non-iPhone S model years, as this ensures they have the S features like Siri, Touch ID, 3D Touch. If it’s really that unbearable, get the iPad Pro, or if you can hold out until next year then you should so you can get the iPad Air 3 or iPad Pro 2, which will be likely to include 3D Touch.
AdBlock helped to make my iPad 3 much more functional. As far as I know, it’s the only ad blocking app that works with 32-bit iOS devices.

Rose Gold, Blue, Space Gray or otherwise, the iPad Pro is a waste of money. Same for Apple Music, AW, ATV. Very unfortunate Steve passed.
A waste of money in your eyes, perhaps. But not in the eyes of millions of other people, obviously. I’m extremely happy with my Apple Music subscription, and I can’t wait to get the new ATV (app store means we’ll finally get a native Plex app).

I actually can’t explain why I find myself very interested in the iPad Pro. I couldn’t care less about the Watch, or the TV, and the ole 2009 iMac seems to be humming along rather well, but it ain’t just that I’m due for something Apple and new. I think it’s the sheer ability to do things with it that attracts me.
I have similar feelings about the Watch and TV; they simply don’t interest me. But I must have the iPad Pro. I use my iPad for music projects and am totally hooked on it. With the bigger screen, I will be able to do more with it.
COST TOO MUCH! Sales will fall off quickly. It’s ok the charge 200, 300, 400 dollars. 800 dollars is a 4K television. There are a lot of products other than computers in this price range and below people will buy.
What are you talking about? My iPad Air 2 was $829. My 4K TV was like $2500.
