“Apple Inc. is trying to lure users away from Android phones with a new app that launched Wednesday.,” Brian R. Fitzgerald reports for The Wall Street Journal.
“The free app, called Move to iOS, is aimed at migrating important data such as contacts, calendars and photos from Google Inc.’s mobile operating system over to Apple’s ecosystem with little fuss,” Fitzgerald reports. “‘Everything about iOS is designed to be easy. That includes switching to it,’ Apple says in the app notes for Move to iOS.”
“‘Do not install! Unless you want a lobotomy!’ one review was headlined in Google’s Play app store,” Fitzgerald reports. “‘I hope this app gets kicked out of the Play Store soon,’ read a more charitable review. There are more than 7,000 reviews so far, mostly along these lines: ‘So bad.'”
Fitzgerald reports, “Apple stuck a note at the bottom of the ‘transfer complete’ screen letting new hardware owners know they can recycle their own Android phones at any Apple store.”

It is quite clear, from the ocean of rabid fandroid frustration, that this app will be quite popular. As I wrote earlier, this is an app that user uses only once, and it is a last app that an Android user will ever download.
The best satisfaction will ultimately be watching all those rabid negative reviews pile on as the number of downloads grows. Wouldn’t it be just most amusing if the app broke into top ten most popular apps for Android?
I remember, a number of years ago, being most amused to learn that the most-downloaded Windows app was something called Uninstall.
I find it amusingly interesting to read the Fandroid “reviews” on the original article. And they call US sheep???

By the amount of “review” by the blandroid idiots, it is clear that Google lets anyone review apps EVEN when they have not purchased/downloaded the app. Typical, low rent google/android way of doing things.
Not true, actually. All you have to do is download the app, leave your review, then uninstall the app.
The install and uninstall buttons are located right next to each other, which actually makes this kind of thing pretty easy.
Side note: You should really get to know an operating system before making comments on it.
