Living with Apple Watch: One month in

“As I write this, it is one month to the day since my Apple Watch arrived — and I only know that because I looked it up. It simultaneously feels like I have always had one and that it is still a new toy,” William Gallagher writes for MacNN. “Those two things can’t both be true, but they are and really it just means I am firmly in that time when I just don’t appreciate that I’m actually a lucky git for having one.”

“After a month of heavy use, though, you can’t fail to know what you make of this device. There is, of course, good and bad about it but actually not that much bad at all,” Gallagher writes. “The worst thing I think I could say is that you don’t need an Apple Watch and neither do I.”

“You just try taking it away from me, though,” Gallagher writes. “I’ve reached the stage where it is easier to dictate a Message or text than it is to get my phone out and reply… Maybe I do need it. There is nothing I can point to that is life-changing yet my life has been a bit changed. I don’t know yet whether it’s better — it’s certainly not worse — but it is different and I like it.

  1. I was doing some work in my garage last night and realized I forgot my iPhone 6 in the house. But I answered a call, two iMessages and checked the Boston-Minnesota baseball score, all from the watch. Then I called my wife to come out and help me out. Today I used Maps to get to a particular parking ramp at the University of Minnesota as I’m unfamiliar with that part of the campus. The Apple Watch is fantastic, loved the haptic feedback.

Oh, and it’s Rolling Stones concert night, check one item off the bucket list!!😎
