Apple CEO Tim Cook donates 50,000 Apple shares to charity

“In a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) [on Friday], Apple revealed that CEO Tim Cook has donated 50,000 Apple stock shares to charity this week,” Mark Gurman reports for 9to5Mac.

“At today’s stock price of just over $130 per share, this number of shares is equivalent to approximately $6.5 million,” Gurman reports. “Cook’s previous publicly-known, personal donation was to Project One America, an LGBT equality campaign.”

Gurman reports, “Apple did not disclose which charities Cook donated these shares.”

    1. I’m assuming the donation went to only one charity institution. I would suggest selling now between 10,000 and 20,000 shares and keeping between 30,000 and 40,000 shares for longer terms.

    There are malnourished people all over the planet, and charities to help them.

    There are battered women’s shelters, and charities to help them.

    There are children’s hospitals, and charities to help them.

    Hungry people, sick people, needy people, disease research, and on and on and on, and charities to help them.

    And yet Tim Cook give his money to perverts, because he IS one. He can certainly give his money to whomever he wants, but let’s not call it charity, eh?

    And by the way, Tim, you lisping creep, true charity is given in secret.

Whilst I may prefer it if Tim have money to a cause that I believe will do good for the world, I am nonetheless incredibly impressed that he would give millions of dollars in the first place to a cause that he believes in. Certainly I cannot criticise Tim for his beliefs or life choices whilst I live in even the smallest amount of sin. And who am I to question how he expresses his love all the same? I would be happy to explain to him why I believe that God would prefer people who are homosexuals to express themselves in less intimate ways, but I certainly cannot blame him for holding different beliefs to me – especially when he does so much good for the world in his role as CEO of Apple and makes donations like this out of concern for other people.
          When you say that ‘true charity is given in secret’ I disagree only in the choice of words – it is still charitable to do so publicly “as the hypocrites do” but as Jesus says “they have had their reward” – I choose to be glad and praise them for their good deeds, for all I know he may give much more to charity in secret and give some publicly only to be seen as a strong role model – either way, a charitable action done for the wrong reasons is still a good thing and it makes me happy to live in such a generous world. 🙂

          bereanbob, myself and millions of Christians condemn homosexuality. We give as our authority a total of seven mentions on the topic in the bible (the word of god and the supreme moral guidance we all need). Probably the most quoted verse is from Leviticus.

          Let’s see some other moral guidance of transcendent beauty god has for us in Leviticus…

          “For every one that curseth his father or his mother shall be surely put to death: he hath cursed his father or his mother; his blood shall be upon him.” — Leviticus 20:9

          It’s that beautiful, heart-warming and inspiring. god loves you.

          The bible is god’s word on the “abomination” that is homosexuality. It is also god’s word on how we MUST stone your children to death for disobedience or disrespect. There is no wiggle room in this. Both are equally the word of god and our supreme moral guidance.

Quoting Mosaic law – which only stood for a certain people and only during a certain time (the Mosaic economy) and which passed away as null and void thousands of years ago. I haven’t seen that tired ploy in a quite a while. I guess I thought that most liberals had gotten that memo that it wasn’t effective, but fallacious.

          This is a demonstration of why unregenerate heathen can’t handle the Word of God. They have no Spiritual discernment and are incapable of understanding. When you are not convicted of sin, you make your own morality instead of having the humility to understand that God’s judgements are righteous, and that He owes no one any explanation of any kind – least of all liberals.

          That said, if you want to understand God’s revelation to fallen man, you have to understand the New Testament. Without understanding the New Testament, the Old Testament is not incomprehensible.

          And by the way, while the New Testament confirms that the Mosaic economy was null and void upon the death and resurrection of Christ, it DOES in fact re-affirm that unnatural, homosexual congress is detestable to God and is rightfully, forcefully, and unapologetically condemned.

          Deal with it!

          On the new testament, let’s have a few quotes on how terrible homosexuality is.

  3. That’s not a charity is a political origination with the goal of changing peoples minds and the laws about a sexual preference. A charity is a group that is set out to help those who are in need of life giving/living things. Like the Clinton Foundation, oh wait! bad example… Water for Africa, the Red project, MDA, those are charities.
