Apple’s music streaming service to have Ping-like social network for artists

“Taking a page out of the discontinued iTunes Ping feature from earlier this decade, the service will allow artists to have their own pages within the streaming music service that they can use to post track samples, photos, videos, and concert updates,” Gurman reports. “Artists will also be able to share the content of other artists in an effort of cross-promotion.”

Gurman reports, “Artists Activity will be a core feature of the “Apple Music” streaming service, but users will actually be able to disable it in the Restrictions Settings panel in iOS 8.4.”

    1. I agree. There was nothing wrong with Ping. The problem had more to do with trying to get people to use yet-another-social-network. Facebook was already a part of everyone’s “social”. Who wanted to have to keep track of two separate sites?
