Among other things during his radio program, Mac, iPhone, and iPad user Rush Limbaugh today discussed his new Apple Watch, his iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus (he has both), and the strides Apple has made recently with the personal assistant Siri.
The 3-hour Rush Limbaugh Show, the highest-rated, most-listened-to talk-radio program in the United States with some 15 million weekly listeners, airs daily on a network of approximately 590 AM and FM affiliate radio stations. The program is also broadcast worldwide on the U.S. Armed Forces Radio Network.

By the way, folks, speaking of the Rush Revere Time-Travel Adventures with Exceptional Americans, the children’s history book series, I got an e-mail note from Erick Erickson Saturday night. I was minding my own business as usual, wasn’t bothering anybody, and I got a little beep and a notification on my Apple Watch. By the way, people keep asking me, “So what do you think of it?”
Folks, it’s turned out to be exactly what I thought it would be. I’m using it exactly as I thought I would. I use it for basically two things: to notify me that I have received either an e-mail or a message when my iPhone isn’t nearby. On the golf course, or even sitting here, I can get a notification look on the watch. I can at least find out that somebody sent something to me and I can check the phone later.
As I also knew, given a choice between the watch and the phone, I’ll go for the phone every time. It’s bigger; it’s faster. This is version 1 of the watch. It’s pretty slow. It’s really cool the things you can do on it. You can answer the phone. You can make a phone call. The battery life is fine. It’s just slow. It’s a version 1.0 device. But I haven’t had any problems with it. I don’t make phone calls or get them, but I’ve tested it, and it works fine.
Scholastic Reading Club, fourth graders, teacher recommendations: The number one most recommended by fourth grade teachers, is “Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims”. This is mainstream stuff here. So that’s hopeful. That is actually good, especially when I run across the story that only 18% of eighth graders are proficient in US history. (interruption) I just got another message from [my wife] Kathryn which says, “Ha, babe!” Because she heard me talking about the note from the watch.
So now I’m gonna reply to it.
“Very cool, isn’t it, sweetie?” question mark. Send it and it’s gone. You know there’s something else about this watch. Siri on the watch is flawless. There’s obviously a new Siri system, software rev version, server system, what have you. But it has, in over a week, yet to make a dictation error. Now, it’s confused words that have similar spelling but the same pronunciation. But it has not goofed up in a substantive way at all. It’s really stunning in that regard.

MacDailyNews Take: It’s only “slow” when it comes to third-party apps which Apple will not allow to go native until later this year. Any perceived sluggishness on the Apple Watch is due to third-party apps communicating with the paired iPhone. Apple’s native apps prove that the Watch hardware isn’t “slow.”

I have found that most people who dislike Rush have never really listen to him. They base their dislike on what others say Rush said rather then actually hearing Rush say it.
It took me a good couple of weeks of listening to Rush before I caught on to his sense of humor and how he would say things just to tweak people.
We heard him promise to move to Costa Rica if Obamacare succeeded. Just another of his daily lies.
Obamacare did not succeed. And he never said that anyway. Obamacare is something we now have because every claim that was made to pass it was a pure lie.
Here he is saying he’ll leave for Costa Rica:
He said nothing about Obamacare “succeeding”, just that “if it passed and it’s 5 years from now and all that stuff gets implemented”.
It sounds like a broken promise outside of weaseling out on technical semantics.

Regardless, whether it’s leave for Costa Rica (for treatment as he claims he meant) or move to Costa Rica if Obamacare passes and it’s 5 years later when everything is implemented… the point remains… it’s now over 5 years since he made those comments, in whatever context he wants to claim them in.

I lived in Costa Rica. Going there for medical treatment is not a good idea.
Obamacare 5 years later and I would not consider it fully implemented to consider countdown complete. Did they ever finish the backside of the $2 Billion taxpayer wasted monies on that stupid website? How many more “Administrative” changes does Obama need to make to this settled law? Why are some of the state exchanges now looking to close them down and go with the Federal one? How many times will wrong forms be mailed by IRS who will then just nix them? How many people, true story, will go to Insurance company looking for subsidy information, while being told by insurer that they will need to contact exchange and the utter exasperation I saw when witnessing that was ABSOLUTELY PRICELESS! I wouldn’t consider Obamacare implemented unless, like with most things Obama, it’s half ass is the mark of implementation.

As a Republican, this is the problem that I have with Rush. He’s a clown, and really shouldn’t be taken seriously. He does more harm to the Republican party than good.
Obamacare isn’t perfect, but it’s pretty much what Nixon proposed and what the GOP response was to Clinton. Instead of working for things that would’ve really made a difference Rush, and others, clowned around and fought losing battles and incited partisan bickering that was unproductive.

I find it interesting that the detractors of Rush seem to forget that some persons will go to extraordinary legal lengths to have their pain reduced and many who have not walked a single step in their shoes like to sit in judgment of them. Having had a substantial amount of pain in my life (not at the moment thank God) I have saved up EVERY prescription I ever had in the past 40 years just in case in the future I ever have pain. I probably have 40 year old Oxy tabs in my stash, never used yet, but hoarded none the less just in case of desperate need. I do not blame Rush in the slightest.

“Progressives” convince themselves that everything they’re doing is for the greater good, which supersedes the rights of any individual. It’s a case of “the humanitarian with the guillotine“: we’re doing this for the overall good of humanity, so it’s OK to start killing people. Or to be really, really mean to them in the comments field.
There’s the fact that advocacy of big government is by its very nature a quest for power and control, for the ability to use force against others—a cause that naturally attracts the bitter and intolerant.
There’s the fact that those of us on the right are accustomed to encountering a lot of ideological opposition. For most of our lives, the left has controlled the high ground of the culture, such as it is: the mainstream media, Hollywood, the universities, the arts. So we’re not used to crawling into a “safe space” and hiding from ideas we disagree with, which makes it easier for us to regard ideological opposition with a degree of equanimity.
But beneath all of these factors, there is something deeper, something more elemental. Something metaphysical… It’s all about immanentizing the eschaton.
For the secular leftist, the end state is social and necessarily political. It is all about getting everybody else on board and herding them into his imagined utopia. There are so many “problematic” aspects of life that need to be reengineered, so many vast social systems that need to be overthrown and replaced. But the rest of us are all screwing it up, all the time, through our greed, our denial, our apathy, our refusal to listen to him banging on about his tired socialist ideology.
For the Christian, the ideal end state is safely in the next world and therefore is never in doubt. For the individualist, it’s in his own life, and it’s mostly under his direct control. For the leftist, however, it is all outside his control. It requires other people, a lot of other people, and those SOBs usually refuse to cooperate. Talk about rage-inducing.
If the whole focus of your life is on getting everybody else to agree with you on every detail of your politics and adopt your plans for a perfect society, then you’re setting yourself up to be at war with most of the human race most of the time.

Because I live outside the Us, I’ve never heard of this guy. Everyone’s comments make it obvious he’s a polarizing sort of guy. OK he likes Mac stuff and that’s a point in his favor. But his web site is one of the worst I’ve ever seen. Disgraceful graphic design. And such narcissism.
I wanted to listen to him online but…damn if he doesn’t want me to pay! Where the hell did that idea come from? Thousands of radio stations around the world, I’ve never heard of a demand to pay to listen. Maybe I don’t want to listen to him after all.
Many iheart.com streams have his show live when he is on the air. He charges for past shows on his site like many other shows do. But if you want to listen for free, you have to catch him live on iheart.com.
I wish he would indicate what “faster” means. The watch does its tasks quite efficiently as far as I am concerned. I am notified of a text, turn my wrist and there it is. Boom. Check my steps, no problem. time, all I do is tilt it toward my gaze. He’s right about the dictation – super accurate. Even if the word is just phonetically correct, you don’t really have to change it as it can be understood through context. I would recommend it to anyone considering it. I bought the least expensive version.
Slow? YES! MDN is a bit biased, but I have a 38mm SS and it’s slow to perform requests for even Apple’s own native apps, especially Siri.
Sometimes, I’m dictating something, and Siri stays stagnant until a few secs later, the words appear.
The battery is my worst nightmare! It’s almost like you can’t use it for nothing else than glances! Try to ask Siri something, and battery goes down by 2%.
Try to launch Mail and then Activity app, and it’s another 2% gone!
And that’s not even playing with it. If I do, I lose 40% in 8 mins!
Since obviously that behavior is not normal, I’m sure you’ve taken it up with Apple. What did they say?

I have a feeling you’re doubting my loyalty to Apple. For me to get a 38mm SS with Milanese loop must mean the big trust in the company to get a product for AUD949 and international postage to MU for AUD269 including a pair of Beats Wireless AUD239 to accompany the Watch. I am a first day buyer of all Apple products.

You probably have a 42mm and I’ve read reports that it “could” have a bigger battery. If you google for Apple Watch battery, you should find enough issues with it.
I’m not doubting you for a second! If you’re losing 40% of the battery in 8 minutes, a software update is not the answer. It’s the hardware. You have to exchange it. That’s clear. Nobody else is reporting that. And since I’m sure you weren’t exaggerating, Apple will replace that in an instant.
