“It could not have been easy for Tim Cook to step into the immense shadow cast by the late Apple co-founder, Steve Jobs. But with grace and courage and an unabashed willingness to be his own man, Tim has pushed Apple to unimaginable profitability — and greater social responsibility,” U.S.Congressman John Lewis (D-GA) writes for TIME Magazine. “He is setting a new standard for what business can do in the world. Tim is unwavering in his support of an individual’s right to privacy and is not only embracing equality and LGBT rights but advocating for change through his words and actions. His commitment to renewable energy is also leaving our planet a little cleaner and a little greener for generations yet unborn.”
“Above all, he has shown that profitability and integrity can go hand in hand. Tim has done this while introducing, time and again, some of the most innovative products the world has ever seen,” Lewis writes. “Tim Cook is proof that even the most successful companies can and should be judged by more than just their bottom line.”

MacDailyNews Take: Well deserved and certainly near the top of the list.
But, but, but Apple was doomed when Jobs died.
Well, maybe not.
Yeah, life work of Steve Jobs.
Making computer interfaces more human.
Cook destroyed that with iOS 7
Now apps all look the same, white, ill, in a design coma. With links instead of buttons.
I piss on Cook!
Tim Cook for President in 2016-2020.
Tony Fernandes, A total clown to rival Ballmer other than in fame.
Kim Kardashian, no words to describe this one, do I need to go on, poor Tim is in some poor company here sadly.
Ah Tim’s a great leader. It’s ironic that why “He is setting a new standard for what business can do in the world.” while the government where he comes from is setting a new standard to what governments can do to the world.
What country do you come from?
Depends where I am at the time. I come from planet earth.
Ok, one of the chosen few who resides in the ether.
Don’t take it personally, it’s just that I’m coming off a very aggressive cyber attack here at MDN. I’ve stated my country of origin here several times in passing.
I’ve also found that quite often when people ask for my country of origin it is to attack it in hopes of distracting from the original issue. So to be fair, if you wish to share the intent of your question and it’s valid I’ll be happy to share.
Now that Tim has come out as gay, Mr. Lewis and his colleagues on the left cry-out that Tim Cook is an awesome hero. (Some of us believed in Tim before he came out as gay and support him now that he has come out as gay). Maybe Tim should have come-out sooner. Then the ultra-left, ultra-stupid Department of Justice under the misguided leadership of Eric Holder would have dropped its wrong-headded persecution of Apple that it conducted for years and years. Sheesh!
“TIME”… John Lewis… Meh!
