Apple likely to quickly ramp up Apple Watch production

“Apple Inc is likely to quickly ramp production of the Apple Watch after strong pre-orders outstripped limited supply in the first weekend following its launch, some Wall Street analysts said,” Tenzin Pema and Devika Krishna Kumar report for Reuters. “Apple is widely expected to disclose weekend pre-order numbers at around 8:30 a.m. ET on Monday.”

“‘Based on our observations and media reports, launch day supply was largely sold out within the first 10 to 30 minutes depending on model,’ Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster said in a client note,” Pema and Kumar report. “Munster, who expects Apple to sell 2.3 million watches in the April-June quarter, expects Apple to ramp production between mid-May and June.”

“‘We think the Apple Watch will be highly disruptive to the traditional fashion watch market,’ Pacific Crest analysts said,” Pema and Kumar report. “The analysts said their checks showed that Apple appeared to be ordering components for the watch that would allow it to build well over 20 million watches this year… The brokerage expects Apple to likely have about 5 million Apple Watches available for delivery by April 24.”

    1. To be fair that country also points out the oblivious thanks to their “aim for Bin Laden hit Saddam Hussein” guidance system.

Who can forget the great buffoons going on about Bin Laden being in Iraq, about Saddam being involved in 9-11 (the sequel) and all those weapons of mass destruction. Certainly let’s not forget the cherry on the cake, brushing away any responsibility for torture with a “look forward” brush stroke.

Yes Apple will ramp up production, the obvious for the oblivious.

      1. When I have been traveling around the world, Yankees are the most universally despised with Australians following a close second. Even when these Yankees try to travel incognito by wearing Canadian flags on their clothes and claiming that they are Canadian, most people in my travels can tell the difference. On the other hand, Australians try to travel incognito by presenting to be from New Zealand or the UK with about he same success. Both groups US an Australian, are thought of a boorish louts and completely full of themselves. They are loud and obnoxious and think they are the best thing to come to this world.

        1. Spot on post there Canadian View. Personally I think the Aussies are totally putrid even compared to Americans, in fact I’ve never had any issue when in the states with the person on the street, something I can’t say about Anustralia after the hate, abuse and assaults I’ve had to endure over there. They hear anything sounding like an American (many can’t tell the difference) and you have to worry about a mob attack.

  1. In other news, AAPL stock is expected to plumet due to the overwhelming success of the  Watch. Record profits, dividends and stock buy-backs are expected to help the stock reach record lows.

The ONE place I’d LOVE to see just a teensy tiny bit of sanity is the stock market. Is that really so much to ask? 🙁

  2. confused “The brokerage expects Apple to likely have about 5 million Apple Watches available for delivery by April 24.”
Yet they are unable to fill many of the 1M pre-orders until June?? This makes no sense.

    1. The estimated 5M available was for the 9 countries in which Day One watches would be sold. The estimates in the article are for USA sales only. Apparently 1M was set aside for US market. 🖖😀⌚️

  3. Rumour has it that all Financial Analysts will be given a Gold Watch, with a single App running in the foreground, reminding them that they are all totally braindead individuals, forever trying to foretell the future, when they have no clue!!

Media journalists will be given an Aluminium Watch, with a single App running to find cheap jokes about Apple Inc. to make them feel important when they make snide remarks on Bloomberg, CNBC et al

  4. The article states, “Analysts widely expect the Apple Watch to outsell similar watches offered by Samsung Electronics Co Ltd, Sony Corp and LG Electronics, which have attracted lukewarm interest from consumers.”

Are you kidding me? How is the watch similar to anything produced by ShamShame? The quality of the watch is better, and then there is the unmatched Apple ecosystem. Get real! 🖖😀⌚️

  5. “Apple is widely expected to disclose weekend pre-order numbers at around 8:30 a.m. ET on Monday.”

Nonsense. If Apple were to disclose sales figures it would be on the Monday after launch weekend which is in 2 weeks, not today.
